I don't think anyone roots for a player to fail...not on your team anyways...

I certainly get the feeling that there are more than a few posters who would rather be right than see what's best for "their team", but those people are just plain shitty fans.

I guess they dont know you can be right and still pull for everybody...in some instances it a plus to be wrong...

The game is constantly evolving.  The "standard" measurables for particular positions don't even really apply anymore.  Teams are figuring out how to use these hybrid players.  Especially on defense (look at Shaq on our team).  Same applies for CMC on the offensive side of the ball, we just have to utilize him the proper way.

Can't wait to hear about how "The Swamp Monster" Terry Williams does!  This kid was a beast at NG for the Pirates.
6'1" 320lbs
Ran a sub 5.0 40 yard dash at ECU.  Pulled his hamstring and ran a 5.2 at his pro day.

Thought this dude was a monster NT and wanted the panthers to draft him in one of the midrounds

If yall had Cam's back like yall have CMC before even stepping a foot on the field maybe he would've dove on that ball in the super bowl

    • Given that the immediate impact we need at edge. We almost certainly address that in Free agency, not in the draft. Same with Linebacker, unless Styles or Allen is still there at 19. I think the same for OT.  What is the position that we could draft in the 1st round and get immediate help in the first is how im approaching their decision-making  I know ill get dragged for this, but im thinking they go DT in the first. A guy that can play right away and be a complement to D.Brown to wreak havoc at the LOS.   So unless a top tier LB is there, I think DT will be the move.
    • I think people forget that by his last season Steve Smith had the ass and he played like it - and for no really good reason other than that other stars were emerging on the team and he didn't want to share the spot light.  He was more of a locker room distraction than he was worth. He went on to have great performances with the Ravens' but G-man made the right move allowing him to move on from here.  I personally think it was addition by subtraction and we don't have a super bowl run with Smith on the roster. Steve Smith remains a narcissist who I've never seen internalize his own culpability when it comes to his relationships with others - it's always somebody else's fault as to why he was forced to act like an asshole. This video is a product ad.  I'm cringed that either of these two Panther greats are party to it.
    • I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.
