This is the equivalent of pretending you've married the girl before the first date. Really.

By about week 6 of the season, we'll know for sure. I think we're all going to be pretty happy but, man, this is wayyyy early to go off the deep end.

Nobody has any idea for sure how a rookie will translate to the NFL. That's how you end up with huge early round busts, and late round/UDFA studs. So I won't make any claim about McC before he's played a snap. I will say he's one of the better prospects in HB receiving to come out of the draft that I've seen, but that doesn't mean anything until he proves he can translate it to the field in the big leagues. I hope he can be one of the best receiving HBs in this league and we can utilize him well that way, and I think it's very possible that ends up being the case, but we'll have to wait and see. Excited as hell to see what he offers.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
