With C.J. Mosley and Jordan Hicks both turning 25 just before training camps open this summer, the pool for quality young linebackers to make this team takes something of a hit. Despite playing limited snaps through his first two seasons, no linebacker under the age of 25 has graded better on a per-snap basis than Shaq Thompson in Carolina. Thompson notched 30 defensive stops in 2016 on just 533 total snaps, and wasn’t beat for a pass longer than 22 yards all season. With an aging Thomas Davis and mild-injury concerns around Luke Kuechly, Thompson’s role should be expanding quickly.

PFF is extremely inconsistent.  They stated Bradberry was the best rated corner last season for Rookies, but yet, Worley had 11 percent of pass thrown to him intercepted or had a pass deflection?  Uhhhh, what?

That has more todo with who's ahead of him than his ability. Put Landon on the Seahawks and he'd be going into his 3rd season with little playing time

It mentions in the article that he has been the most effective LB by snap. It's not Shaq's fault he has TD and Luke in front of him. The article is saying that when on the field, he is an effective player. Quit with the Shaq hate man. You bash the dude every chance you get.

In Nickel packages (which is the most common defensive package we run) he is behind Luke and TD. When he's "beside" him, we run our base 4-3 and he balls our according to the PFF article.

Depends on the defense. If we are in a nickel, they are in front with just 2 LBs on the field

You do understand we don't run base 4-3 on defense even half the time.

If you had a sliver of knowledge about football, that should've been obvious.

He clearly meant in-front as in the depth chart, not physically on the field.
