Yep! I hate that I really can't rebut my wife when she asks me (rhetorically, of course), "How in the world did we fall off so fast from a 15-1 season to 6-10?" She said that the GM should have been fired for that alone (she thinks everyone should be fired). As far as she is concerned it was a historic failure, without precedent. I could have kept on debating, but in the end I really have no answer.

I act like this is the same scenario for the first 4 yrs with both...we were trending down and the bad moves by Gman caused it...the SB slump as you call it is a mythical thing but failing to provide protection to our Qb and letting Norman walk when we could have had the top or one of the top secondarys in the NFL are reality. so when someone says enjoy 7-9 reality says Gman did worse...so that would be a step up...

Yea bad moves by Dave. You mean like get us out of cap hell while providing enough talent to make a super bowl run and the best season in franchise history. Yea what a dick.

He did some good things but he was on course to live like a pauper continuously...perpetual bargain basement...bad moves along the way also...ultimately the Norman fiasco was the kicker I think...I'm glad it was recognized and dealt with...I wish him good luck wherever goes...
