What Do You Predict his Workload will Be?

  1. 1. Rushing workload

    • Split with Stewart to start the season, most of carries by end of season
    • Stewart will get bulk of carries to start the season, but it'll be about 50/50 by the end of the season
    • Stewart will still get at least 70% of the carries and maybe 50/50 by the end of the season
    • McCaffrey will only be used in select rushing situations to start, but will gradually get more opportunites as the season goes on

I wonder what the single season record is for receiving yards for a RB. I bet McCaffrey will break it eventually

I don't know what the records are, but Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk both went over 1000 yards rushing and receiving in a season.  Craig in 1985 (1,050 rushing, 1,016 receiving) and Faulk in 1999 (1,381 rushing and 1,048 receiving)

The Pro Football Reference "play index" is an AWESOME NFL database

Here's your answer:  Marshall Faulk in 1999 had 1048 receiving yards.

For a rookie RB, the answer is Willie Snead

Not sure why Shockey & Larry Fitzgerald show up as RBs??

snead is a wr too right?

Yeah, I guess so, Duh, I'd forgotten that!   It looks like for his rookie year in 2015 PFR has him listed as FB/WR.  Weird.

Of course, if CMC ends up getting more production in a WR role, it might be hard to know how to label him too.

He will be on the field for 80% of offensive snaps in one form or another.

I was getting ready to say that CMC will be on the field a good bit more than Stewart and will get quite a bit more touches. Probably about even on the carries for the first while but I can see CMC getting even more of those as the season progresses.

720 yards rushing on 10 attempts per game and 500 yards on 4 receptions per game.

Honestly we should use him exactly like the Steelers use Bell. They don't run him out wide, he just knows how to be available for dump offs and he picks up 8-10 yards, best of all he caught 75/94 targets which is insane
