Yeah I don't understand PFF grade on Matt Kalil they give him a 39 for giving up a hit and a hurry but Cam Robinson gets a 75 for allowing a sack and a pressure by Mario Anderson?

All these sites are invested in what they've already proclaimed last year and the year before that and the year before that.

If he's playing well now, then they'd have to admit that when they labeled him a "bust" or a "bad signing" then they were wrong.  And you know that will never happen.

I thought Matt did fine.  First unit played great.  I think PFF grades for preseason games are a tad silly.  Coaches aren't game planning.  They could be wanting a few passes forced to a player.  That's what they did with Samuel. That's why I'm not really mad at DA. Shula was calling plays for Samuel not because they were the best plays, but because he wanted to see the guy in action.  The coaches gave DA word where to throw the ball regardless of the defense.  DA wasn't going to audible out of a scripted pass play for Samuel.  In a real game he would have.

Ultimately I've got to ride with DA as the back up until he stinks it up in a real game.

So, according to PFF, Zack Sanchez is the 3rd best player on the team! Zack frikkin Sanchez!

just take a minute to let that sink in before quoting PFF grades like they're the bible.

Edit: not calling you out top dawg, just a general statement about how little PFF matters in my life.

that was the PFF grades of one preseason game.

that doesnt mean he is our 3rd best player.

for that game.

he had a pick and maybe another one of close to one.

But Sanchez balled out. Nearly took one back for six. He also had an incredible swat near the goal-line, saving a TD.

I don't understand your argument.

You both make very good points, and I admit that Sanchez had a great game. But I still think PFF is full of poo!

    • Those euro games seem to have a tendency to be stinkers, like the Thursday night games used to be. Might still be. I don’t ever know what to take away from them.
    • You are? Fitterer kept telling the story about how they were 100% in line. He said they wrote down who they liked before and after the draft prep and they both agreed. Fitterer also talked about how he had his eye on Young during his sophomore year, which makes it even more puzzling that he didn’t trade Burns to make sure he could get Young in the next draft. Reich got a lot of excuses in here about Young because so many people loved the hire, but there was a lot of pre-draft discussions about GM and HC being in agreement. Heck, the point guard analogy came from Thomas Brown in February and Tepper still gets blamed for parroting what the coaches were invariably saying. Tepper has sucked because it’s his team but man does he get a lot of blame for decisions the football people said they made. I guess Rhule was enough of a personality that people focused on him but Frank and Scott got passes and Tepper was an easy target. It allowed the Fitterer and Reich fans to not feel as bad that they were wrong.
    • 2 more years 🤣   Is he going to get bigger in those 2 years?  Is he going to fix his mechanics in 2 years?  His flaws are unfixable.  And I seriously doubt Morgan and Dave want to anchor their jobs to Bryce for 2 more years.  Especially after Sunday.
