All of those except 1 of Olsens were clutch catches that we really needed at that point in time.

Shepard is the only Panthers WR who had a better day than Funchess, and that was mainly because of a busted coverage by the 49ers and a good audible by Cam. This Funchess hate is getting ludicrous. We are a running football team and Cam only completed 14 passes yesterday.

He caught 2 passes, like his career average. What has he done to change anyone's opinion?

I agree with you, but being targeted has a lot to do with being open, and that is his primary criticism.  I am not one who thinks Funchess will ever be much more than what he is.  I am not blaming Funchess, I am blaming the chemistry of the offense.  Cam takes a bit longer to get rid of the ball---that allows defenses to close on big WRs.  Cam is best when he throws as he plants his drop foot, something the announcers said yesterday.

Making judgements on Funchess based on yesterday is useless.  Nothing over the top but he didnt screw up anything for sure.   All I can say is he did what he was supposed to and caught a couple passes thrown his way and did not drop them...  Go team!

Ahhh shaddup.

Two catches for 20 yards in a run-heavy game, plus some great downfield blocking. Moose made quite a career out of that here, wouldn't hurt to have a new version of him in the house.

As I've always said.. fun fun would be close to a 1k WR on another team. Cam (believe it or not) doesn't go beyond his second read too often. Now add in the fact that we're a check down happy team and fun fun and Olsen both should have worse YPG & CPG this year.

I'm glad you brought up blocking because Funchess is pretty darn good at it and that's important on a running football team.
