Almost ever single one of his catches in space look great so far. What everyones worried about is his actual rushing skills if the line keeps doing a  poor job at run blocking he can't break tackles and can't outmanuever 3-4 defenders on him in the backfield. 

We already knew this but hes at his best in space, and Shula really should be doing anything and everything to get him in space. He should have more directional runs, tosses, and sweeps and occasional inside runs just to keep defense honest. 

Or if he keeps shitting the  bed rushing we should just convert him to a WR which he basically is one already  , or at least a player that's more simular to the role Tyreek Hill plays which is mostly WR but some RB plays and returning kicks.

Really like what we've seen out of CMC as a receiver so far. Jury is definitely still out as a runner though. He goes down on first contact on virtually every carry.

Actually here are the numbers for McCaffrey.

He has rushed the ball on 21 plays.  He has been successful on 7 plays meaning he picked up the down and distance.  He is averaging 2.7 yards per play.  His successful percentage rate is 33%.  This success rate ties him for 57th on the list of backs.

On the passing game he has 12 catches where he converted 7 of them for a 6 yard per average and a 58% success rate.

I get the difference between that stat and catch rate, but didn't I read somewhere that CMC was leading the league after week two in targets to completions as well? Something like 80%? Regardless, it's pretty clear from his pedigree that he was going to be a stellar receiver, and I'm ready to go out on a limb and say that he's got what it takes in the NFL. If he fails at receiving, it won't be due to a lack of ability, that's for damn sure.

I am not even close to tossing in the towel on his running either. What I've seen so far in terms of gains has little to do with capability. First and foremost, we have a predictability problem. All but a few here can see that as plain as their own reflection in a mirror. Second, the OL isn't getting it done. Third, we've been inconsistent in additional blocking help (TE, FB, etc.).

For those, and probably a few more reasons, defenders are closing in on him before he can do his thing. He's not a powerback to be used to plow his own row. CMC's YPC, and for that matter, some of the YAC, are going to depend on plays designed to allow him to use his extreme advantage as an elusive runner. He needs space, but not a lot, just a little hole within reach. He's frequently not getting it. Whether that's due to poor execution or run play design I don't know, but like a lot of people, if I had to make a hefty bet on it, I'd put my money on the latter.

Also, saca as far as the Panthers section goes is pretty decent for analysis or overall statistics so the more the better really. There isn't much else to talk about right now.

I agree that he has a bright future in the league and on this team. These numbers are just that, numbers not predictors. At this point his success or lack of success is more a function of the gameplanning against him more than an indication of his ability.
