my favorite thing about CMC is how low the bar has been moved at this point

to start the season anything less than rookie of the year was unthinkable and i was a troll for suggesting otherwise

now he might put up a nick goings esque season and all the "haters" have been proven wrong

what a joke

Still waiting for any post from you even resembling reality.

In the grand scheme of things, he had a decent game. Objectively speaking, he didn't cracking 100 yards in the receiving or rushing catagory , but then again he only got 5 catches and 15 carries. These backs that are getting 100 yards rushing with regularity usually get 20+ carries a game, and alot of times 30+  and CMac doesn't even sniff that many carries. I'm quite curious to see what he would achieve with the same workload as Leveon Bell or Zeke .

In terms of his past piss poor rushing performances, just compared to that then yea it was really good.

38 yards on 7 touches?

Lol.

Stop.

As a runner, he looked like he did at Stanford and was far more confident. Ran between the tackles on most of his carries and forced a couple of missed tackles.

Yes, he's doing far better than he did a few weeks ago.

still waiting on him to have 100 yard rushing game.. he may not get one this season unless he gets 20+ carries , which its hard to see happening. He did get 15 carries today though.

I'm really wondering what the coaches are thinking about stew now. I saw mccaffrey lined up as the RB much more than the previous games, and he was even back there late in the game and to close the game. Not sure if it was just punishing stew for a piss poor performance, or them actually realizing our offense flows better with McCaffrey in the game instead.

4.7 YPT is decent. I know yall are just dying to justify the pick, but come on lol. 20 touches for 94 yards and it's a crow thread?

The telling quote from the broadcast today was Aikman saying Cam said he knew they'd draft McCaffery when Richardson had him over to his house during a predraft visit. Jerry saw a fair skinned player with no tattoos and upside playing in Charlotte and got dollar signs in his eyes.

I think he'll be a useful player, honestly. Still, taking a RB at #8 is almost always a less than great decision.

Yeah but it's in the context of a gimmick player who's not useful for more than 5-7 touches a game.

like who cares. there are tons of third down backs and slot receivers in the league.

but at this point its become religion. like i wish the huddle was around in the late nineties so we could see how long people would go to bat for jason peters or rashard anderson.

hell, judging from the greg hardy threads, I guarantee you'd have people calling cherica adams a dumb slut who had it coming, so long as no one criticizes someone in a panthers jersey

Whatever the case, it's hard to deny that he's not improving and has been consistently a big reason our offense isn't flopping over dead.

I like him and wouldn't want it any other way. He's consistently improving and changing our offense, which is why we drafted him in the first place.

Value for teams is subjective and different for each and every franchise. I consider anyone who improves the team in some way dramatically in the first few rounds to be great picks.

CMC doesn't get the individual stats, but he's dramatically changed our offense. I think it's a win in my book, and I could care less about anything else.

Just like with Star Lotulelei on the defensive side. He may not get the sacks or big stats, but he forces offenses to adjust and account for his ability as a monstrous defensive tackle.

Christian McCaffrey forces defenses to respect his receiving ability, and pretty soon his running ability after today's performance. He gives Cam an outlet he's never had and is very reliable. Exactly what the offense needed.

lol the panthers offense isn't dead? flopping would be an upgrade for it. at least it would show signs of life.

again, the panthers only two good offensive performances came when cmc did the least.

he's part of the problem but saca is here to spam cherry picked gifs, and even in the one he finds cmc doesn't make the right read and cuts into the middle of the field for some stupid reason. probably because he still thinks hes in the pac 12

Precisely. A 32 YO Darren Sproles averaged over 6 YPT last season. Kamara is averaging 7.3 YPT. A RB that catches the ball as much as he does should be well over 5 YPT. Well over. Every game.

    • You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.
    • TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."
    • DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
