The Benching of Monk if very frustrating

Young players go through growing pains.  Monk happens to be one of the most potentially potent offensive player in some time and sure, his shot is off at the moment, but you don't bench that type of player.

I dunno, it's just frustrating.  He's obviously not going to be a bum and has long term NBA potential.  We've won recently but we need to play this kid if we're still willing to give this Bacon kid minutes.

I really like Monk and feel he should get burn at SG. I know Cliff loves size but we have seen a ton of players who are short become great two guards. Maybe with the Batum injury and Lamb in the starting lineup we will finally see Monk at SG where he is supposed to be. Also if he goes off in Q2 please play him early in Q3. Dont wait until Q4 and he be out of rhythm!

Three minutes. Needed more on a night when no one could throw it in the ocean.

Yeah, but Clifford swears up and down that defense alone will win you games. His style is 1980s/1990s style of basketball. It just doesn't work when teams are stacked with scorers. We didn't draft Monk to play defense like MKG or Marvin do.

Lol some of you fugers would rather see Monk on the floor for 15 minutes and lose than not see him and win 3 in a row

Correlation does not equal causation.

Doesn't mean we can't win with him.  It's silly to bench him at this point.  What good does it do for anyone?

    • Then why are they paying QBs so much compared to other players? QB are making so much it's harder and harder to pay other players. If a guy plays like 1 of 11 then there pay should be in line with that. Not all QB should be breaking the bank just because your next or a former 1st rounder There is a reason they say try to win it all on a QB rookie deal because after that they can cripple a team on what it can do. I would rather not do that for a bottom 1/3 QB. Cam and Jake have been the only QBs worth investing long term into this team has had I would rather not lower the bar. If a guy don't got the IT factor and it shows I would rather not invest long term into them and keep looking

    • I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.  He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said: "Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."  That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway. Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay! In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.
