Peppers, on Minnesota's o-line - "We stick with what we do. We don't necessarily pay attention to the offensive line. They're somewhat like a gray matter. They're just...there."

Things that only the great get to say for 500, Alex.

Nice to see Greg Olsen at full today, but he would’ve played last week if game wasn’t on turf.

RR says Greg Olsen won’t be on a pitch count vs Vikings.

Steve Reed Retweeted Steve Reed

A good sign for Greg Olsen that he participated fully. "It was very important because it lets everyone know what we can do with Greg," Rivera said.

Ron Rivera said Panthers CBs don't have any interceptions because "we have dropped some." Also have been asked to play some with backs to the QB under Steve Wilks' defense.

Ron Rivera said Vikings offense feeds off their defense.

Ron Rivera said Captain Munnerlyn will be playing more on Sunday against his former team the Vikings because of LB Shaq Thompson's injury (foot).

Captain Munnerlyn saw an increase in responsibility today, will through the week and on Sunday as well because of Thompson's foot injury, Rivera says. Doesn't mean Thompson ruled out.

I don't want to pile on but that is a major problem that I have with Panthers game planning. They don't really focus on what the opposition likes to do. The Saints moved Cameron Jordan to the right side because they know that Matt Kalil is struggling and they bracketed Funchess because he has been playing well since KB was traded.

Bad feeling about this game. Zimmer is a great defensive schemer...I foresee Funchess and CMC being keyed on and neutralized...Unfortunately, I don't think any other player on offense is capable of picking up the slack.

No shut both down so it's for certain we get shut down. I'm not living in fantasy land we are going to lose this game big time.

Ah yes, glad to have Ryan “ima practice a few days this week so I can chill on Sunday and watch lil bro get beat like a drum first hand” Kalil back in action.

Shouldn't he be making funny videos, or pulling more practical jokes?  That's kinda his thing now 'cuz it sure as hell ain't playing center alongside his not-good baby brother.

I keep seeing this plantar fasciitis diagnosis but nowhere can I find where a doctor said this is what he has...the only reference is Rivera's quote.

For someone who doesn't comment on player injuries (especially the concussion protocol) why are we taking his word for it?  I would normally trust the guy in charge of the team but when you go into the half with 2 timeouts with a minute left in the first half instead of at least trying to get into FG range I will question everything this man says.

Having Greg back for an entire game will be huge if it happens. Combine that with possibly McCaffrey/CAP seeing more snaps in the backfield if Stew is out, maybe our offense can make a statement against a very good playoff caliber defense.

I think our 3 main offensive weapons are Funchess, McCaffrey, and Olsen. The key for this game is some 4th man stepping up and shredding the defense otherwise. Could be Byrd, Dickson , CAP, who knows.

    • I think they are holding back to see what they have in the young guys, but I think it's a near certainty at some point they will bring someone else in. Right now (assuming we keep 5 CBs which is normal), the top 5 IMO are: 1) Jaycee Horn 2) Mike Jackson 3) Chau Smith-Wade 4) Shemar Bartholomew  5) Akayleb Evans   Obviously Jaycee is the alpha in that room and paid as such. Need him to stay healthy and continue to play at a Pro-Bowl level. Mike Jack did pretty well all things considered last year, and they gave him lower-level starter money. Fair deal for both sides.  Smith-Wade showed some promise as a slot CB. I think low-key he's a lock for the team. Different size and skill set than the other CBs. Shemar Bartholomew was the most sought after waiver claim last preseason. Was 5th CB most and inactive most of last year. Had a few defensive and ST snaps. Nothing of note good or bad but too small a sample size to make any judgment. Akayleb Evans was a 2022 4th Rounder for the Vikings. Has started 19 games (including Week 18 for the Panthers) in his career and played in 43. Was pretty good in 2023 before getting injured and falling down the depth chart last year. There's some other guys on the outside looking in, but until they show more in training camp I dont see anyway they make the 53. And only Jaycee, Mike Jack, and Smith-Wade are locks to make this roster IMO.
    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
