Saturday Games Thread

Anyone watching these 2 games? I dont have NFL Network so I have to watch it online lol

First game is Detroit vs Bears 4:30 PM.

  • Game doesn't have much meaning but I guess the Lions haven't been eliminated yet at 7-6 they're one of the fringe NFC teams that have to win out to have a prayer to get into the playoffs
  • Pretty sure the Bears have been eliminated but at least they're fun to watch with Trubisky (I'm a UNC alumn), Jordan Howard, and Tarik Cohen

Second game is Chiefs vs Chargers 8:30PM

  • Cheifs and Chargers are both 7-6 and whoever wins this game gets the division title lead and probably a huge leg up in AFC playoff seeding. Big game!
  • Also interesting b/c the Chiefs offense seemed to come alive last game, will see if they can continue against a very good Chargers team lately
  • Kareem Hunt is #2 in the league with 1046 rushing yards and he has 389 receiving yards for a total of 1435 yards from scrimmage (Kamara 1247 , Fournette 1136 , McCaffrey 838)
  • Hunt has a chance to make a late push for ROTY since Kamara was injured last week and KC came back alive. Putting together 3 big games he could get the award over Kamara or it may be a very tight race

so why are we having saturday night games?

not sure, i thought it was a typo when i checked earlier this week .. Maybe b/c the college regular season is over and theres just some lame meaningless bowl games on until the college football playoffs start in January

Its going to be the same next Saturday 12/23  . Colts vs Ravens 4:30 PM , Vikings vs Packers 8:30PM

Lions trying to score with :57 left in the half inside the 15. Something RR would never do

and they promptly fumbled in their own side of the field to let the Bears get a field goal before the half lol. Just more fuel to justify Riveras conservative coaching decisions

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
