Internal investigation equals cover up?

It's more of a diversion than a coverup

"Cover up" was the best word I could think of, but I don't know if there really is a single word or phrase that sums it up.

Basically, it comes down to an effort to control the outcome of the events, and in so doing, to keep the NFL from getting involved.

It's some pretty machiavellian stuff, and if I had to guess I'd say the source would be the Panthers legal department, not Richardson himself.

I'm not sure if it's trying to control the outcome - because that's out of their control. I would say it's more like proactive damage control.

Which is kinda the same thing.

I'm not sure they can ultimately keep the NFL from doing their own investigation, especially not with other teams complaining.

They may be able to get their story out there first, but I doubt it goes unassailed.

There are more than a few teams wondering why the Panthers are allowed to investigate themselves. One GM called it a “total scam.”

Try and imagine the reaction of NFL teams and fans if the Patriots investigated themselves over workplace misconduct. There would be riots.

No way in hell the Panthers should be allowed to investigate themselves.

I have no idea what this is about

i do find it odd at the sudden departure of Danny Morrison and some of the others along with the jettisoning of Gettleman and now this

Sexual harass, maybe, guess if Bush at 90 couple could be called down for grabbing butts and joking about David Copa feel then an 81 year could do something similar

but, honestly this seems more like something different than sexual harassment.

It feels more like unjust termination based on race, religion, gender. Something
