These are extremely disturbing, and rather intentional or not he's belittling the victims. Lets please remember there are real people on the other side of this and those "allegations" were strong enough to warrant settlements. We need to come to grips with the fact Jerry Richardson was a racist that sexually harassed multiple women.

Cam's statements make it appear that its no big deal and he himself was accused of false allegations. He just doesn't get it sometimes and nobody defends him more than me, but he just needs to shut up when it comes to issues because it never clicks for him. His history of straddling the fence with the "all lives matter," his comments to Jordan, and now his defense of Jerry Richardson.

"IN MY CASE they were false"  key part is in bold for you

Kobe settled and kept playing basketball. He didn't retire, he didn't quit. He stood is ground against the allegations. Jerry is tucking his tail and running and didn't once say these allegations are false or defend himself in any way. Garbage comparison.

Jerry Richardson is a 80 something year old man who has lived his life and ultimately accomplished his professional dream of bring an NFL team to the Carolinas. Kobe was a 20 something basketball phenom in the prime of his career so that's apples to oranges.

The fact of the matter is they were both accused of terrible things and both settled with their accusers financially. Despite the allegations the people that know Kobe personally still revere him as shown by that celebration the other night. And the people that know Jerry Richardson personally from other owners like Jerry Jones to his current and formal players from Cam to the late great Sam Mills all thought highly of him. Life is not just black and white for some.

im glad the team is still focused on the real goal. fug all the bullshit, fug the pro bowl. JUST WIN BABY

God forbid there be a dissenting opinion among a group of people. i mean i guess its their prerogative to call him whatever they want, but they arent helping heal the divide by treating fellow members of their community that way.

Come off the high horse. As a young black man I don't think they aren't treating him any differently than white people treat members of their own communities. We talk about people we don't like in our communities just like y'all talk sh*t about people you don't like. All I hear around here is people running around calling each other Libtards/Snowflakes and C**kservatives/Racists.

For whatever its worth, I have no clue what your race is. Im not trying to insult or belittle you but it's a very tired argument to hear "black people are so divisive" all the time when the exact same thing goes on in every ethnicity.

I get what you saying

But loyalty comes first. If a person do something for me, I'm not going to poo on that person in the public or in private no matter what he did. I dont know JR, so I can be objective. Richardson never did anything to Cam. The Panthers could have cut ties with Cam years ago, no the organization stood behind him, JR stood behind him and he's still our quarterback. So I expect him to take the position he has as well as the key important players on the team.

What billionaire owner of a sports team would immediately give up and sell the team he founded based on "allegations?" The team he said he would own until his death. Anyone who thinks these are just allegations is dumb as hell and honestly part of the problem.

Right now, they are allegations by definition.

No doubt in my mind that he is guilty though.

Are you deaf and blind to the current atmosphere in this country? All allegations right now are automatically treated as if they're true and the supposed "victims" become heroes. The movement was named time person of the year for godsake. JR may be getting older and making dumb decisions but he's not a stupid man. He knows exactly what would happen, not only to him and the Panthers but to the league as well, if he tried to fight this situation. He's up there in age with health problems and has already been scaling back his involvement in the league. Selling it now really was his only logical option, even if he's 100% innocent and knows it.

There's no way he can prove his innocence and just the initial story alone will be bad for the league if they don't do something about it. JR made it easier for the league, and he obviously cares a ton not only about the Panthers but about the entire NFL and several of his fellow owners. He wouldn't want to have to put them in the position of being forced to vote him out, therefore setting a very bad precedence for them as well. Use your brain and think this through.

Actually I fully agree. People of every race throw around derogatory terms about people in their race that they consider “traitors” to the race/ideology. It’s wrong no matter who does it. Just because someone has a different opinion doesn’t mean they are some traitor. It’s time to start listening to one another inside and outside races and ideologies and time to stop writing people off just because they believe differently.

From what I read here, I think Cam did well in this presser.

Most of my black friends refer to him as a 'coon,' though.

He's damn close. Also why the hell does everyone conveniently leave out the bigoted part when speaking on JRs actions. Cam did as well. That's as close to an old plantation two step as one can get.

What an insult to our ancestors who were actually on plantations and had little say about their daily lives and toiled without compensation for someone else's gain.

To compare that to a multi-millionaire professional athlete speaking about the sports owner of the club he plays for, who he probably has had nothing but constructive interactions with, as opposed to some anonymous accuser he probably personally doesn't know nor the credibility of their claims.

Cam spoke respectfully about Jerry Richardson the man he knows but also stated the seriousness of the allegations anyone who has a problem with what he says has an agenda and is no different from the racist sports writers twisting words like sports icon etc..

I think being loyal to a person can go along way. People thinking Cam defending JR, is like the House Slave and his master, is not the same thing. Cam truly beleives he is a good person.. no matter the Bigotry, Racisism, or Harrassment. You can still be friends and close with someone who does not agree with many things you do. It reminds me of Veterans... no matter how many times you fought with other poeple or dont agree with them, you got their back
