Not a Pro Bowler but the MVP?

Probably not going to happen BUT does anyone think it's possible that Cam finishes in the top 3 in MVP voting after being completely left out of the Pro Bowl? The top candidates for MVP a couple weeks ago were probably Wentz (Torn ACL), ABrown (Out for season), Wilson (Completely embarrassed the last 2 weeks), and Tom Brady who will probably end up winning it this year. After those guys who's left? Maybe Gurley and Bell but it's a strange year with all these injuries. I think we all expect Cam and the Panthers to destroy the Bucs, so if he puts together 2 more good weeks to finish the year, I could easily see him being one of the top MVP candidates.

It's not like it really matters at all, but I find it extremely funny that Cam completely missed the Pro Bowl, and could still end up being one of the top MVP vote getters if he keeps playing the way he is.

The only person mentioning him as a MVP is you

Yeah my point is don’t you think that could change if he has 2 more good weeks to end the season? Comparing his numbers to 2015 is irrelevant because other than Brady and maybe Gurley there really isn’t any strong candidates.

If there were five weeks left, I'd say he'd have a chance to really blow everything up. But not a single person is mentioning Cam as MVP.

Although, it's difficult to find guys who are more essential to their team's success than Cam. If Brady had gone down before Jimmy G was traded, I think they'd still be doing just fine.

Don't think so.  I think if he finishes strong, people will label it more of a bounce back year.  The early season injuries plus lackluster stats are clearly going against him, as it should.   Cam's "problem" has been consistency.  Cam's problem's also go along with team problems.   Our September/October record compared to our November/December record tells the tale.   Even the MVP year, Cam wasn't mentioned until after we beat the seahawks in week 6.

Strong ending this year (with the SB that we are going to win), along with a decent to strong start next year, Cam will be in the running.  However due to his slow start he won't be in the running this year no matter what our finish is.

Wentz should win MVP missing 3 games shouldn't hurt him and i still think Watson is the rookie of the year

Cam not even in the MVP discussion

Watson went down too early in the season for him to be ROTY. I think it'll come down to pretty close race between Kamara and Hunt.  Hunt's going to have way more rushing yards than any other rookie so it'll probably be Hunt.

With the MVP tho, I agree that it should still be Wentz. He went down so late in the season and was performing at such an incredible level for about 3/4 of the season I think that should be good enough. If they dont give it to Wentz itll just go to Brady by default.

    • Appreciate that, bro!  And I could definitely see that with Cam.  Even though he’s a little younger than me, he is also someone I admire and feel a kinship with for a lot of various reasons. Funny enough, a few years after that encounter with Steve, I went to Charlotte with one of my friends whose brothers owned a moving company at the time.  He dropped me off uptown and went to work the day with them where I would wait until he got done and then we were gonna go to the Bobcats game that night.  So I walk all through that area for hours.  After awhile, I walk back towards the arena and sit in a bench on the backside of the arena, where the practice court and player’s entrance was.  As I’m sitting there, I look up and almost think I’m seeing things - I squint and blink my eyes a couple times just to be sure, and yes…  it’s one of my childhood heroes, Muggsy Bogues walking across the crosswalk and into the arena.  I think he was coaching the Sting then, iirc.  Part of me wanted to just say, “Hey!  Muggsy!  Thank you for the inspiration and memories!  You were one of my favorite players as a kid!”  But, I just watched him walk by and into the arena and thought, “that was cool!”  I also so Miguel Cotto a couple years back while in Orlando and told my kids who it was but didn’t say anything to him.  I think somewhere in my subconscious, that encounter with Steve really made me feel like the gamble on finding out if they’re receptive to interaction just isn’t worth finding out.  At the end of the day, no matter if they’re receptive inspired us or were a hero, unless they initiate it, I likely never will…  because again, they’re humans just like us.  Not anymore unique or special, they just have a highly visible and very public job that we get to watch and in some ways participate.  So, I just appreciate it for what it is.
    • I'm pleasantly surprised they gave it to Bryce Young over Josh Allen. Finally we're getting some respect. Now I'm just hoping the team follows this up accordingly and doesn't lay another egg.
    • What weird blood red moon has cast its spell?  What’s next, dogs and cats sleeping together? Bonus question:  Did Canales open up his playbook or did Bryce find an extra high gear in his stick shift?
