How I Felt After the Game

In a weird way I am kind of glad the season is over. This season had some High-Highs (win over Pats, packers, and Vikings) and some Low-lows (Bears, JR falling out, the way the season ended in Atlanta). Mentally I was exhausted and really had little faith we were gonna win. While I was sad we lost, at the same time I was glad not to have to worry about anything else anymore.

Go Heels then?

First post here. Just wanted to say that I felt somewhat attached to this team since the NFC was really wide open this year and that we could've made a deeper run. The didn't hurt me as much as Super Bowl 50 but I still believe that are Super Bowl Window won't be closed for years to come. I'm extremely excited about next season and I'm looking forward to returning the favor to New Orleans again.

This year has been different for me. I honestly did not have the emotional ties to this season, and was not totally distraught after the game. I thought the game ended better than expected with us having a chance in the end.

Me too, I wasn’t in love with our offense at all and our defense was clearly wearing down as the season went on. Wasn’t expecting us to win the super bowl this year, but to have beat NO in the super dome when it mattered most would have been nice!

First off, welcome.

Second, why are you excited for next year and what makes you hopeful we will continue to be good?

Third, Diddy won’t be the owner

I believe that if we can fine tune our offense and snag a play maker in FA then we could really be contenders next season. As for your last comment a man can dream lol.

I went into this game hoping that we could pull it out, figured we could keep it close into the 4th... really didn’t expect us to win so I’m alright.

Several years ago I went into my wife hoping I could pull it out.  But I couldn't.  Now I have two friggin kids.

Pretty bummed...season over is always depressing

the aints are better than us but we gave it a big effort...proud of that

i say right now...aints and falcons both win next week

I told my son before the game that the winner of Saints/Carolina is going to the super bowl.  I still think that.  Also believe it will be a Saints-Falcon NFC championship game.  Cheering for Brady again.  It really sucks

    • Of course, everyone has film. That is probably fresh in their mind though. Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division.  and if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
