I wont be mad.  We've had more total success and 2 chances already woulda been  3 if we had any RBs with a heartbeat on the roster in Seattle 05'

this.

and still so much better than anyone else from the nfcs or the pats or the steelers or the seahawks winning it.

would be great to see some other team pull it off. i wish it was us and we've had our chances, but there's more annoying teams who could be winning it.

I want Minnesota to beat New England. That team reminds me of the cardiac cats and it would be nice to see them finish what we failed to do by knocking off Brady in the Super Bowl. They're also a smaller market, underlooked team like we are, and I don't recall any reason to dislike the Vikings or their fans. Oh yea, and they fuged over Brees and NO.

Go Vikes!

More on topic though, it would be bittersweet to see Jacksonville win one, but damn you can't deny they deserve something after picking top 5 20 straight years.

Yes it would bother me

Same here.   I guess living down there for a year really turned me off from supporting our sister team.

1998-99 they were so obnoxious and listening to sports radio was damn near unbearable.

You would have thought they were going to go 16-0 every season and that every player was a pro bowler.

Yes, this, exactly.  Too many obnoxious things were said to me from Jaguars fans that far exceeded any other fanbase ever for me to ever wish them any happiness.  I hope the refs actually call their DBs for pass interference & holding (unlike last weekend) and they get blown out by the Patriots.

Fans of the Panthers from inception (myself included) remember Jags fans having some sort of inferiority complex and I never understood why. But, it made for a mini-rivalry and they were overly obnoxious in the late 1990s when they were pretty good (Brunell, McCardell, Jimmy Smith, Fred Taylor) and we struggled through the Seifert years. I hope they lose to the Pats so they can continue to exist without ever knowing the feeling of going to a Super Bowl. The Patriots are already a dynasty and one more SB appearance doesn’t affect me as a fan.

Agree - anyone but the Jags or Eagles. As much as I hate NO and ATL - the eagles are just about on par.

Once the Panthers have no stakes I lose all ability to care how well other teams do or do not do (unless it is the Bucs because living here when they are good is annoying).  Normally I would root for the happiness of friends but I have no close friends that are fans of the Vikings, Jaguars, or Eagles fans and while I have Patriots friends, they are not what I would call long suffering.  Therefore I will root for whatever I decide to lay money on.

    • Yes, it tells me they’ve improved significantly from sitting at what, 30-31st in the league on the PP to 11th now.
    • I wanted someone to hire him so we got the picks, but I'm also not upset that he'll now be back. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans on here dislike him so much.  No, he's not perfect and made some mistakes this year, especially at the end of the playoff game and going so soft in coverage on the final drive. But considering this place torched him all offseason for us having the "worst defense in NFL history" last year.  Said in the whole pre-draft process how we had to go defense in round 1 because of it and then complained the rest of the offseason that we didn't do enough to improve the defensive roster. How do people say all that about the defense and then complain when he turned that same unit into a pretty respectable defense this year.  They were really the only reason we were in a lot of games for most of the season, as the middle part of the season they really stepped up and were playing like one of the better defenses in the league. I don't see any reason we can't improve even more next year if we spend another offseason focusing on adding pieces on that side of the ball, which we should be able to do with our draft picks and cap space.
