They best look long and hard at the financial viability of a move. Last heard, 23000 PSL owners head rights to about 64000 seats

as a PSL owner of 20 years, I am done paying another dime for PSLs then I already pay

I am not alone

also they would do well to look at the geographic location of PSL owners. I will not travel further than I do now and I suspect others won’t

I’m getting far too old to throw money away on the NFL

Unfortunately, you're kidding yourself if you think new ownership will give a rat's ass about current PSL owners if they can finagle public funding for a kew stadium.

And honestly, to hear the City Council talk, they just might.

I don’t they can get public funding. That ship has sailed and if  the politicians agree to it, vote them out and let the team leave

I didn’t get psls expecting forever.  There is no such thing in pro sports

That's an easy thing to say if you don't own a business that gets a lot of additional revenue from the team (and I don't, but lots of people do).

The city gets a lot of benefits from the team's presence as well.

Parking isn't just about "parking".  It's also about revenue.

Oh, 100%... probably didn't convey that as well in the beginning. The additional income that they would receive from parking lots is something they are not getting in the current situation and the almighty dollar is always at the top of their priority list.

I meant that I feel like the $$ now, and especially moving forward has to have a decent amount of thought put in to the footprint it leaves behind. I feel like, from a fan standpoint that isn't concerned with money, that we are becoming more environmentally conscious with our decisions (some more than others) and that business have to account for this in the big picture.

Maybe I'm still missing the angle....haha... oh well.  Big business is going to churn out revenue regardless.

Goodell has said the same thing about St. Louis, Los Angeles and San Diego.

Yes and no.  For those cities, it was more of a softer political statement to placate the masses even though pretty much everyone knew there was a very good chance those teams would be moving elsewhere.  In this case, the statements are a little more direct and are clearly designed to let any future owners know that the NFL absolutely wants the Panthers to stay here, and it would be difficult, if not impossible to get the requisite number of votes to move...let alone be approved at all as owners if they plan to try and move the team.  And Kraft's statements also lends credence to this point.

And regardless of whether or not they truly care if the team stays in Charlotte, the NFL doesn't want another relocation this soon after all the recent moves...especially since they have not really been working out as planned as of yet.  there's too much instability already, they will likely want things to settle down before going on another relocation trip.  After all, too much change isn't good for anybody.

  • 2 weeks later...

This week, a source who declined to be identified because the bid is not public told the Observer the NASCAR drivers interested in joining the Sabates group include Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. The source also said Chip Ganassi, a team owner who is a business partner with Sabates, is also interested, as well as musician Kid Rock.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
