Stop with that nonsense. You do know he had 4.7 ypc in the second half, right? He was running a lot better and making a lot of people miss. Geez, in one game thread someone remarked that they were disappointed he didn't get more yards after getting hit by Linval Joseph, the DT from the Vikings.

If you watched CMC in the second half, he was a much better RB and our OL actually knew what they were doing versus Igo's gifs showing our OL blocking for a run as if it were a screen pass. Our OL run blocking was awful in the first half.

We can split hairs about what he did in the first half of the season versus the second half all day. The fact of the matter is we used a top 10 pick on an "offensive weapon" and our QB still had to carry the run game. No matter what either of us says here, we need big strides from CMC as an RB next year. This isn't debatable. Do I hope he can? Absolutely. I like him, I was high on the pick. But that was with the understanding he was going to help anchor the run game. That's what we need.

Looking at you Florio.

He doesn’t care.  In the media you don’t jump to conclusions at your own peril.  Completely opposite. You are rewarded for the quickest most controversial take.   The news cycle and clicks for the initial take is much longer than the “you were wrong” news cycle.

Cam carried the run game because Stewart got 200 carries and outside of great run blocking (Kalil and Moton were on the right in an unbalanced line) on one play where he ran untouched for 60 yards, he averaged 3.1 yards per carry.

How can you blame CMC who looked great in the second half (6 of 8 games at 4.3 ypc to 8.9 ypc), but still only had 2 games over 10 carries? Did you know when CMC had 8 or more carries we were 6-0? Not all him, but interesting.

If you want CMC to help out in the run game, should he have 22 less carries than Cam? Yep, that's right, Cam had 22 more carries than CMC. It was very apparent that the coaches were still trying to ride an ineffective Stewart and it wasn't a good result. He wasn't good last year.

Stewart is already over 30. We know he's approaching the tail end of his career. We didn't draft him in the top 10 last year. Why are you so hellbent on talking about him? He's got maybe another season with us and then it's over.

CMC is going to get the carries in 2018 under Norv. He's going to get the opportunity to showcase his abilities. I am optimistic about his future. But he's going to have to start with not going down at first contact. That happened too many times last year. Maybe he was overthinking it or trying to do too much. It happens, we've seen it with Cam. But fair or not he's going to have to produce, and produce big.

I wonder if Cam would have been able to play in the next round had we pulled off the win in New Orleans.

He's a tough motherfuger. 99% chance he would have. They wouldn't have been able to keep him off the field.

Because Stewart was a big problem in the run game. It's hard to help Cam in the run game when they ran Stewart more often and ineffectively and yes, he did once he got used to the NFL game. I don't call 4.7 ypc over the last 8 games going down on first contact. I saw him make a lot of people miss and I think that is more what he does than running through tackles. You can't ignore someone who got the most carries on the team and wonder why Cam was the leading rusher.

Anyway, I'm beating a dead horse as I am very optimistic about CMC. You can't look at last year's games and not see the big impact he had on the offense without KB for half the season and an effective Olsen for all but 2 good games (one in the playoffs). He had a great season as a rookie.

I think you are hung up on DG drafting him (since you hate him) thinking that we got him 8th because we were going to give him 300+ touches. Our coaches would never have allowed that.

His impact last season was predominantly as a receiver. He had 435 yards rushing, a good bit of which happened later in the season.

I'm hung up on the return for that pick. I wanted us to draft him since Fournette was off the board and we needed help in the run game more than anything at that point. We both seem to agree that we need him to step up as an RB. Not really anything else to argue about beyond simple semantics.
