Jones vs Jones in Dallas

There's been an interesting little back and forth going on down in Dallas about Dez Bryant.

It goes something like this...

Stephen Jones: "Dez Bryant is a distraction."

Jerry Jones: "No, he's not."

Stephen Jones: "Other players suffer because of his antics."

Jerry Jones: "No, they don't."

Stephen Jones: "We should think about moving on from him."

Jerry Jones: "We're keeping him."

Unlike his dad, Stephen Jones has demonstrated that he actually has some football smarts. The Improvement of the Cowboys over the last few years coincides with Stephen getting more involved.

Generally, he and his dad have (publicly at least) been in lockstep. This is the first time I can recall the two of them disagreeing out in the open.

Will be interesting to see what happens in Jerry World when the time comes to actually make a decision on Bryant.

The more discontent in Dallas,  the better.  It makes me smile.

I sooooo wanted them to draft Manziel. Reports were that Jerry wanted to do it but Stephen talked him out of it.

That would have been such a circus.

Yeah, I think Stephen might make a great executive once Jerry is out of the picture but here's to hoping Jerry has one more big shitstorm left in him.

I have a feeling once Stephen is fully in charge, they won't be anymore.

If that team picked Mansfield over Martin... Martin is easily one of the best players in the league already...

Behind the scenes reports basically said Jerry had to be talked out of it.  He loved the idea of drafting Manziel.

Stephen won that argument.  I'm less certain he's going to win this one.
