I'd rather they just give it to one of the other candidates and keep Hurney on paid leave.

There is also the possibility they could now bring in more candidates (Ryan Cowden and Trent Kirchner, for example).

I do think his power in the league is somewhat diminished these days.  He lost the battle over Ezekiel Elliott as well as the one over Goodell.

If it comes out in the investigation, yes, depending on what they saw or knew

there seems to have been quite a dividing line, physically and otherwise, between the coaches,players  vs front office however

The way the panthers are structured, it's highly unlikely any of the players had a clue.  Likewise, anyone on the football side of the business wouldn't have been in a position to know.

Business and legal people are another story.  Potentially Hurney too but I doubt it.
