That's the thing.  One of the culprits would be gone.

The non-disclosure agreements weren't drafted by Jerry Richardson.  They were written by someone on the Panthers legal team.  Someone who, in all likelihood, is still employed.

Failure to report those agreements is a violation of the personal conduct policy.  And since the NFL doesn't suspend team lawyers, the likely punishment would be loss of draft picks.

I hope that doesn't happen, but sadly it's a real possibility.

Ahhh ok, yeah i have not really delved into all the BS.

but HIS lawyers should be following him down the drain.

New ownership will have there own legal team.

I hope that would be enough, but they could still decide to fine the team or pull picks.

No way to know till the investigation is done.

Two different people with inside sources confirm that he did. One of those sources was Brandon Beane.

Scouts apparently had to talk him out of it, but Hurney was prepared to make the deal.

I don't doubt it one bit. If you're willing to deal a future 1st for Everette Brown, you definitely willing to deal a future first for a guy you see as a franchise QB when you desperately need a franchise QB.

lol are you getting this from a huddle thread

Let me ask my grandma's friend's daughter's niece who was only three weeks from being born when her parents went out to dinner with somebody who had a friend whose father was dropping off the team's pizza in the war room that night what he knows, he's really reliable.

I'm not sure why this has to continue to be stated, but Hurney never offered a future first for Clausen.

Literally minutes after the pick happened he stated that he was approached to do so but didn't go for it.

People are idiots.

You could've just said "yes a huddle thread"

Except it wasn't.  I had spoken to TB privately.  Sat on the info until he agreed it was okay to bring it out.

MHS spoke up spontaneously after TB's info was posted.  Either could have brought up the info at any time on their own, but they were each keeping a lid on it for their own reasons.

And yes, I have no problem believing either of them.

That Hurney was willing to trade a future first believing that Clausen was a franchise quarterback isn't what bothers me the most.

That he actually believed Clausen was a franchise quarterback is what scares me.

Every team in the league passed on Clausen, including two QB needy teams and the frigging Cleveland Browns.  Our GM was the only one dumb enough to not only take him, but to try to use extra picks to trade up. Throw in that he fell for some misinformation from the Colts that wound up leading him to trade a high pick for Armanti Edwards.

If stuff like that doesn't tell people why Hurney shouldn't be in the drivers seat, I don't know what will.
