We basically already have a younger version of Austin on a rookie contract in Curtis Samuel.

The Curtis Samuel that was hurt most of the year and didnt do much of anything.  You can count on production from him but I'm not.

And your solution is to sign a guy who averages a shade over 22 receiving yards per game for his career and had all of 13 catches for 47 yards last season?

I'd rather just hope that Samuel develops.

I would love to sign a veteran WR but I want a real WR. Funchess is the only one we have right now. We need some real WRs not more intriguing athletes that we're going to try to play at WR.

But Tavon Austin doesn't produce though. If it's not a screen or a jet sweep he's basically useless.

And he has this attitude like he's elite just because the rams gave him a top 6 NFL WR contract at the time. They got burned just like any team that pays Jarvis Landry top wr money to play the slot.

I'm on record saying I would target Tavon Austin.  Will be 28 with killer speed and can return punts.  He is worth a decent contract no fuggin doubt.  Grab him and draft an outside WR and go with that.

Why?  Bryd and Samuel at the same types of players who are as good as Austin.

On the fence about Crabtree.  I am also of the belief #1 is overrated.  We need a receiver that can create separation quickly whoever that might be.   Funchess has ability to be a good receiver but we have to have someone who can take some of the pressure off of him.

I think Turner is going to dictate who that may be.  Whoever we sign it will have the blessing of Turner and I will be content with whoever he signs.   I wonder what Dez Bryant would do in Turner's offense?

Pryor is not a quintessential speed guy.  Most of his best work has been on crossing routes.

For a guy his size he's damn fast. He also has the physicality to make tough grabs in traffic.

Most guys 6'4 240 don't run sub 4.4 40s.

Dez Bryant is basically a shorter version of Kelvin at this point in his career with worse focus and can run a little faster every now and then. He's really struggling getting any separation and not to mention his attitude when things are going bad for him.

Cris Carter said it best not many wr's have 3 declining years before the age of 30 and then turn it around once they are 30. His production has dipped each year but the 2012-2014 Dez was ELITE

Sure if we want two number two wr's again.

Any wr that we bring in via free agency, trade,  or the draft has to check one of two boxes:

- Be a bona-fide number 1 wr or  have undeniable deep threat speed and can use his speed to get open.

If you bring in someone like Jordan Matthews which I've seen suggested or draft a Courtland Sutton we're basically in a worse situation than  we had with kb/fun fun. At least KB produced when being double covered and bracketed. Can't say the same for anyone we bring in if the fit the mold of a number 2 wr.

Underrated option that might be a cap casualty would be Emmanuel Sanders, he's not the youngest guy anymore but he's consistently open and has great hands.

We do not need speed at all. We already have two deep threats.  Crabtree or Sanders would be great.
