Another potential owner: David Tepper

Or the NFC West....they murder each other

You're not following the point.

Our divisional rivalries for the period since the 4 division format is probably the best.   Until we won 3 straight NO one won it back to back.   Secondly up to that point each team won the division an equal amount of times. This creates a good rivalry. ARGUABLY the best rivalry.

I pray you're not a new troll that is going to argue just to argue.

Based on your extensive knowledge of David Tepper?

Yeah, sure :eyeroll:

I wouldn't actually expect Tepper to do that, but there is one very large factor that argues pretty strongly against Tepper wanting to move the team.

That'd be the NFL.

The league has specifically stated, and emphasized, that they do not want the Panthers to move out of the Charlotte market. Additionally, by all indications, Tepper is the guy that the NFL most desires to be the next owner of the Panthers.

I'm pretty sure the NFL would be rather clear with him on that preference. And since moving a team requires league approval, well...

I do know a decent bit about Tepper.

Didn't say he'll move the team - team's not gonna move, for the reasons you stated. Said he's the type who would without a second thought. And the type who will agitate for a new stadium and spending as little of his own dosh on it as possible.

If you disagree, I doubt you are very familiar with this guy.

I like everybody going boink over his ties with the Squealers.... Jim Haslam was of the same ilk...doesnt always translate to success... i like this guy though.... and the brass testicles are out in the open...not hidden.... if somebody saw him hunched over in a corner... rubbing them i'd be worried...

Tepper keeps a brass replica of a pair of testicles in a prominent spot on his desk, a present from former employees. He rubs the gift for luck during the trading day to get a laugh out of colleagues.

Bout time we got someone in charge with some balls!

If I disagree, it's because I know your opinion is worthless.

And there you have it, folks: Freely admits he doesn't know what he's talking about but has taken up a belligerent contrary stance just because he doesn't like the guy who actually knows something.

(I sometimes wonder if you've figured out who I am - which would be pretty doable with a bit of thinking and googling - and are just a hate-crazed alumnus of a rival school. If so, grow up.)

I don't know David Tepper personally. My only experience with him is simply as an investor (and not directly in Appaloosa). He's a ruthless SOB whether you like it or not. What I'm saying would not be argued by any reasonable person.

I'm pretty sure those aren't coming with him to BOA if he wins the bid.

As to the Haslam comparison, someone mentioned that to Albert Breer as well. He stated the two of them are very different people.

The best option that has been put out so far, IMO. Comes from a successful franchise, has the most money of any of the candidates. I like this one a lot. Plus the reports are he is a leader in the clubhouse.

Just as long as he doesn't stay married to Hurney too long, I am down for this completely.

I don't really care who you are. You're not that important.

What I have figured out (and what pretty much everyone has seen through, it's not that difficult) is that you aren't what you pretend to be. It's a facade you put on to try to lend credibility to your opinion.

If you need to lie to make your opinion sound credible, your opinion is worthless.

Doubt he stays tied to Hurney very long at all. Through the end of this season is the furthest I could see. But since GMs don't have a lot to do during the season, it could easily be sooner.

If he wants to pull someone from the Steelers front office (and why wouldn't he) there are two, possibly three solid GM candidates available. Mentioned each of them earlier in this thread.

That's not to say he wouldn't look outside the Steelers for a GM option, of course. I'd just expect him to start where he knows best.

I think the biggest thing with Tepper is he is already pre vetted by the league and ownership as an approved owner. Granted it will be a formality to redo it as a majority vs minority and he will have to divest Pitt to do the deal but that’s a non issue. This race is his to lose by a mile.

Not to say you're wrong but sounds funny the way you put that. 'It's a non issue'. Someone just has to come up with $125 million (or so) to buy his 5% of the team. #billionaireproblems

Haha for real. We should send Felix after his Pittsburg share and leave the Panthers alone.

For how many billionaires are interested in the panthers there are 100x the hundred millionaires for his share in Pittsburg. Insane.
