Yep, this is a legacy move. He either goes down as a Panthers legend or quite possibly the most hated Panther of all time that didn't spend multiple years in prison for an unthinkable crime.

I will never hate JP...fan for life...TarHeel dead...&$ %$ &#$% State...

I will if he does us like that. I'm a diehard Heels fan and us drafting Peppers #2 overall is what made me go all-in on being a Panthers fan, but this would be it for me as a Peppers fan.

Never...but on that note I dont think goes anywhere else but home if he doesn't sign with us...

Probably so. But it sure seemed like most of the chatter in the past few weeks was that it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that Peppers was going to be back. Then as the "legal tampering" period came closer all of a sudden it's up in the air. Money talks even for a guy who should be set for life many times over.

Julius Peppers is the reason that I'm a Panthers fan, but if he signs elsewhere after all that talk about coming home and having no desire to play anywhere else at this point in his career then he can go fug himself as far as I'm concerned.

...I never was on the welcome back committee ...so fug him anyway

julius peppers atp in his career has

1. produced at a high level for many years

2. got his big contract

he probably wants a ring before he calls it quits and was looking at us as a possible contender last year, but with the change of administration, he could be having second thoughts to continue here. i don’t think he looks at a guy like hurney and sees a high football acumen.

He is a part-time player now. He needs to stay to lock in his legacy as a Panthers great. If its a JR thing, JR is GONE. His man Washington is his DC. Pep needs to stay and finish here. If he is retiring, that's fine, but to leave and play somewhere else again would be a huge slap in the face.
