Jets trade up to third in NFL draft

That's an option, but which position is more likely to have a good quality player available later?

I'm in agreement with Tony Grossi on this one. The Browns have been too bad for too long at quarterback to let their top choice slip by.

Granted, this is the Browns were talking about, so even if they do take a quarterback at number one there's still a pretty good chance they're going to screw it up.

I see it this way---picks 2 and 3 are going to be QBs.  Nobody is trading what they gave up for a RB.  The Giants are taking Darnald unless Cleveland does.  Barkley has to be there at #4.  Period.  Cleveland loses their choice of QB by waiting until #4 to draft him.

No brainer.  Nobody is going to move up to draft Barkley, and no way the New York teams are trading out...

You see the speculation about the Bills?

(it is just speculation, of course)

Florio is speculating that the Bills may try trading up to the Giants spot to get their QB of choice. Price could be steep if so, EAP if what the Jets traded is used as a benchmark.

How confident would you be going into the season with McCarron?

McCarron is there to babysit however long it takes for their draft pick to get ready. I would imagine both sides know that. It was the last team where he could have a chance to play some games. And even that’s not guaranteed.

Logical. McCarron himself might disagree, of course.

The Giants are the team you have to watch if you are Cleveland, but I bet NY takes a QB if they pick #2 and any teams that move up do as well.  There is NO WAY Barkley is not there at #4--so Cleveland is DUMB to take him first and hope Allen drops to them (if that is who they want).

Yep. And I was in favor of CLE taking him #1 until this.

Giants will take Barkley at 2.

Me too.

If Cleveland does not go 6-10 next year, something is wrong.  Personally, they should make the playoffs--all these picks, Cap room.  As long as the ghosts of Tim Couch,  Trent Richardson, Josh Gordon, and Johnny Manziel do not travel to Dallas to haunt the Browns' GM.

Great trade for the Colts.  Jets did get Bridgewater but looks like they want another QB as well.  Bills will need to give up the farm now unless they like Jackson.  QBs look like they could be gone early.

Mason Rudolph is an option.

There's a "Christmas Carol" type story in there somewhere.
