Jmo..

Or

A hard hitting Safety on the backend or in the box gives your secondary a attitude and intimidation factor that affects passing games..  Pair that with a strong front 7 and you have a top 10 defense..  The dink and donk passing games Doesn't work when WR's are Affraid of the hit coming if they make A short catch.. You cause more fumbles in the running game.. When the RB worried about our Dline and LB's  doesn't see the safety coming from his back side... And Best of all teams get real weary about running the screen when your safeties can make jarring hits on the screener..

Just my opinion again. Since we lost Breeland.  Adding a hard hitting Safety like Vacarro and Mithcell is the 1st move to a improve secondary before the draft.. Add a center fielder like Reid and A CB in the 2nd round.. Now you have a imposing defense...

Don't know why people keep bringing him up

He is better than what we've had and what we have (nothing).

He has a history in our system and did fairly well when he was here.

He provides an attitude and spark on defense that we lack at times, especially on the back end.

I'm going to make this point once.. I know this player was bad here and that player was bad there.. But for some reason more than not Rivera system gets the best out of players.. Kurt Coleman was a JAG barly making roster in Philly and other places.. Dam near pro bowler here.  Mitchell was a 2nd round bust for the Raiders .. Pro bowler here.. Maybe we are lucky and our coach system gets the best out of dumpster players..

I want these players because they carry a attitude and have certain skills that fit what we need perfectly.. Mitchell is fast and a hitter... In Rivera system that's all he needs to do for us and he puts up near pro bowl numbers ..

Vaccaro is a 1st round talent.. A sure tackler and a solid in the box safety who can cover .. I can see a lot of things Rivera can do with him and Shaq on the field together..

Sign one of these two. Spend a high draft pick to address the other safety position. This, potentially, gives us the best safety tandem we've had in a while (ever?).

Totally agree..

I'm concerned the reason behind these players doing so much better here than elsewhere is now in Arizona. Wilks is a great DB coach.

Would love vaccaro , I do like mike Mitchell too . Both will get penaltys but they bring that fire that were missing in the secoundary . I'll take the penalty we need that hard hitting safety

They bring a angry that other players feed off of a swagger younger player want to imitate.. Plus they make WR think before going up for balls.. You can see WR alligator arm passes once they got their bell wrung and these guys do that..

Rivera had a history of this in his years as a DC.. You can see the pattern of where ever Rivera went to be DC.  That teams defense was immediately top 10... Chicago to Philly to San Diego.. Wilkes is good but it's Rivera system..

I also like that when we bring the young players from the draft in .. If you have one of these guys they get their swagger from them... Mitchell attitude makes younger players want to hit and go all out like he does..

    • Why not? Dude was tough as nails. Came off the field after a vicious hit and showed the coach how his ring finger was knocked out of socket halfway up. You could see the shock on Fox's face. Brad just  pulled  on the finger, grimaced, got it back in alignment and went back in for the next play and blew up an opposing linebacker or two. Dude is legendary.
    • Motown let on like he'd like to play at least another 5 years in his presser. I fell he was truthful and us fans over did his knee. The guy started like 108 starts in a row and only missed like 2 games over each of the past years.  I think as long as the team agrees with his value that Motown has, he will sign another contract extension to push the void years into the 2030s.  OLmen can play at high levels up til 40. Trent williams is doing it, Richie Incognito leftd and came back to play until he hit 38. Lane Johnson is still playing at a top level while 38. You member Greg Van Roten, he's somehow still playing at 36 and he started here after being a substitute teacher years before. If you are able to get over the 32 year bump, its possible to reach 38 with luck. Colleges do a poor job of preparing new OLmen, many times that vet is better.   Rams were begging Andrew Whitworth to come back while he was 39, if you got the genes, luck and still willing to put in the hard work....it is possible to play until 38 as a OLmen*starting level*
    • Shaq was a fantastic LB, he just happened to have been standing in the shadow of a Panthers great and a Hall of Famer. He was team-lead starter quality for all 32 teams of the NFL. Don't throw shade on him, he was never just a guy.
