Where is your confidence level?

As much as I preach about the importance of staying healthy, gelling together as a team, fighting for one another, laying it all out on the field for one another, etc, etc........

I don't know how any football fan can look at our football team, and not feel this team hunting a championship.

IMO, too many folks are letting their fear of the past hinder their confidence. Hurndog is back. He sucked last go round, so we will automatically suck this time as well. For some reason they just know that losing Norwell is going to doom us to mediocrity, if we can even get that high. And of course there is that pesky "Never had back to back winning seasons Thingy".

Fear of the past can cripple you. And too many folks are letting it do just that.

Mike Adams is damn near 50.

Who the hell is this Searcy guy?

We have a starting corner from the Giants. How was that defense last year?

Bradberry, the huddle's wanna be JNo.

Front 7 looks great. Offense should be great but may start off slow. CJ is the best pick up all offseason. Don't put a ton a pressure on Funchess.

Panther fans have historically been stuck looking in the rear-view mirror.

I think the team has made good moves this offseason. I’m feeling good about our offense and I think adding Poe is still an underrated move. I think Poe and Short will be atleast we good as 2013 for the interior and potentially one of our best DT combos ever. Getting push from both of those guys at the same time will be huge for the defense.

i like what we’re doing at CB. In my eyes we’ve got 3 starters at CB with Bradberry, Cockrell, and Jackson. Between the three we can match up against an alpha WR, a big strong WR2, and an elite speedster. Those are the pieces we needed.

Safety: Adams impressed me last year and I think he keeps it going. Searcy sounds like a solid player. If Gaulden can get on the field I think he makes us better on that end with attitude.

Adding CJ Anderson feels like something I didn’t know we needed. I knew we needed a RB, but Anderson is a legit back who can give even a bad offense 1000 yards, which honestly we haven’t had in a couple years. He frees up CMC in a variety of ways. This addition has changed my mind about the offense the most.

DJ Moore I think is gonna come in and deliver the early splash plays we kept hoping to see from CMC last year. The WR group as a whole looks incredible compared to what we’ve had. Excited for Cam.

the o line will have issues. But we’ve got at least three pro bowl quality guys on the line. Maybe Matt has a good year, maybe our TE help will improve on his side. If we can get halfway decent LG play then great. I think we’ll find a way to make it work. Cam’s weapons should help alleviate some of this.

this is going to be a really good team. I know we’re better than last year and we won 11 games then. We’re gonna be a force for sure.

    • We were very banged up going into that Rams game. Our second best player (Horn), our best safety, and both starting ILBs were out. I feel like our defense has really been impressive considering a year ago. If our offense learns how to be balanced like they were against the Rams, we can honestly beat anyone. Those losses to the Saints and 49ers may have been what we needed to figure out that when we depend too much on either running exclusively or passing exclusively that we are no good. That Rams game showed what we can do when we are in sync offensively and it was so much fun to watch. If that offense shows up this week then go ahead and cancel your plans the second weekend in January as you will have a game to watch.
    • and we won a game in the playoffs.....where our leading receiver was Fozzy Whitaker w/ just 39 rec yards.  That feels like a 2025 Panthers type winning setup.
    • Yep, the board has amnesia to the weekly swings and declarations made.  The same cast of characters has been talked about vastly different repetitively and you only have to go back as far as the game before the last one....and just keep repeating that pattern largely backwards.  I personally feel confident that this team is not bad and it is not good.  And while that is nice to get back to be out of the literal dumpster......I don't view this team as an average team w/ a puncher's chance.  All average teams are of different molds.  We are more the, if a really good team plays bad, you will lose to us variety.  We aren't bad enough where you can get away with a bad day vs us anymore.
