Now we know who went where, what picks should we have made?

1. Trade the first and the third (which we fuging traded anyways) up to get Derwin James

2. Stuck with Jackson in the second

3. If we didn't get James, we should have taken Harrison over Gaulden. If we got james, probably the receiver from Colorado State.

It doesn't mean they're right. They didn't like Harrison either. So they're taking a chance, much like almost every other pick, on something not solid. a pure player at that position. DJ Moore is arguably a scat back. Jackson is the size of a nickel corner that won't match up with tall guys if he plays the outside like most are hoping he will. The TE we got has 28 receiving yards, hardly a replacement for Olsen, main a replacement for Dickson. Undersized players everywhere.

You do realize Bradberry, and Cockrell are here to match the taller receivers...where we had trouble was defending players with long speed, and quickness underneath. Specifically in our divsion (Jackson, Ridley now, Godwin, Gabriel now gone, Justin Hardy, Ted Ginn).

Munnerlyn is in the dog house or at least was to end the season, Elder is coming off injury, and Jackson talent wise / ability is better than both already.

Moore is far from a scat back, you're not a CONSENSUS number one available (1A/1B) receiver next to Ridley if you're a ''scat back''.

I wish we could've landed Ried in the second. I'm sure Jackson would have been around in the third with the talk that many were sleeping on him due to his size. Overall, aside from the late round reaches (Ian Thomas not included), I'm overly satisfied. Now comes the application phase which will weed out the JAGs from the football players.

Only thing I'd change is Bo Scarbrough over the late LB. We could've brought in an Andre Smith as a UDFA, and of course Scrabrough goes to our Week 1 opponent Dallas so we'll get to see first hand what we could've had.

We can watch him ride the bench first hand? He isn't getting carries over Zeke and they've already got a big banger in Rod Smith who looked pretty good last year.

Nor did any other teams apparently.

Same goes for Harrison.  Too many on here saw the mocks with both as either late 1st or early 2nd and assumed that was where they should be drafted, so think we blew it by not taking either.  However, the fact that both lasted as late as they did says that the actual professional talent evaluators do not feel they were as sure a thing as the mock entertainers led us to believe.

I didn't watch any Tennessee games, so the Gaulden pick caught me off guard since guys with names I knew were still available.  However, after reading up on him and looking at some highlights, the biggest issue is that he does not have a great 40 and didn't perform well at the combine.  But, from everything I have gathered, he plays faster than his timed speed, and he is an instinctive playmaker with solid skills.

So, while he might be a little slower than the average CB (although some high level ones also ran poorly like Sherman  and JNo), he should be fine at Safety.  In fact, I think his ability and experience at CB should help him be a productive Safety for us.

And Jackson was projected as an early to mid 2nd round pick, and I've seen some analysts say they wouldn't have had a problem if he'd been taken in the late 1st.  So, he was good value for us.  And he fits our need for a speedy DB that can hang with the speedsters that gave us fits last year like Ginn.  The biggest issue with him is his weight, but he's only a couple of pounds less than Ward, who everyone saw as a sure fire top ten CB, so size shouldn't be an issue.

So I feel pretty good about the draft.  We got some guys that I feel will really help us this year, and more importantly, give us the ability to counter what our division rivals are doing.

Oh, I also want to mention that Marquis Haynes was another surprise pick.  However, he is going to be a player for us.  He will likely never be a traditional 4-3 DE, but he'll be more of a hybrid that will give us a lot of flexibility as a situational pass rusher who is capable of dropping back in coverage.

So, he's another one that I would likely have taken someone else, but now realize is actually a very good fit for us.
