Gantt believes the league will force a sale to Tepper

Was Tepper the one who asked to meet at a restaurant at a specific time just to get a senior discount?

No, that was Kestenbaum.

Felix Sabates wants to move the stadium to Carrowinds, so anyone not associated with Felix is fine by me!

Possible. Of course, we hardly ever heard much about Kestenbaum anyway. And confidentiality agreements make it tough to know what's really going on.

Tepper denied being out, but LaCanfora is saying he was in and out like a yoyo.

Will be interesting to see what details come out after those confidentiality agreements no longer matter.

Yeah, I think Tepper is not the type to play games when he is negotiating.  I'm sure he was not happy with all the screwing around that seemed to be going on.

LaCanfora also made it sound like Tepper might have been the target all along for the Panthers.  It seems whenever he pulled out, they kept going back to him to convince him to come back.

The NFL is worried about how Navarro has made his billions in debt collection.  I like that Navarro has ties in the Carolinas, that he wants to keep a stadium in uptown Charlotte, and I wouldn't hate the idea of bringing in Peyton Manning to help, but Navarro's close relationship with the Richardson family are another concern for the league.

That said, I wouldn't mind Tepper either. He seems to like Charlotte as he said it reminds him of Pittsburgh (his hometown).

Yeah, the lawyers handling the sale reportedly kept begging him to come back.

That said, I don't think Mark Richardson expressing his preference for Navarro was an accident. Gantt speculated that he was speaking for his dad on that front, and I think that's a real possibility.

Kestenbaum was reported to have the backing of a Canadian billionaire who had as much money as Tepper. I don't really think the NFL was ever that high on him though.

I agree with the notion that Tepper will be highly competitive, and probably demanding as a boss.

Some would say Haslam has a competitive streak as well, which is why he hired and fired people on a yearly basis. After the Haslam debacle, I'm very leery of any minority owner of the Steelers that supposedly has the Rooney's 'blessing'.

Haslam had the same kindof fanfair when he was announced the winner of the Browns. Does that not scare anybody else?

Wow, such commitment to our brand, so admirable

All of the groups bidding will most likely have new stadium on the list of things needed to make the purchase worth while. It's really one of the only ways to seriously boost the value of a nfl team quickly.

Even former Tampa Ray superstar Evan Longoria said the Rays need to leave Tampa.  http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/rays/2018/05/10/evan-longoria-rays-might-be-better-off-leaving-tampa-bay/

The ONLY way local government should put anything into a new stadium would be if it lures MLB (and maybe MLS) along with it.  Unlikely in 2018, but in NO WAY should local government help pay for a new stadium in any other terms.  Period.

I understand that, but if you're making a 2b purchase your going to want some immediate return and the one way to do that is a new stadium. It immediately adds 1.5-3b in value to the team. So you go from a 2.1b team with a valuation of 1.7b realistically to a 3-4b valuation realistically.

It's going to happen, no way around that. I wouldnt buy the team with out approval from the state and nfl on a new 1.5-2b dollar stadium as part of the deal. No way in hell would I pay the extra 500m that this sell has gone over the last valuation with out that in my pocket and doubt a billionaire would either.

Got a bad feeling about this guy...seems like a real slimeball

More of a slimeball than the guy who had employees wear jeans on Fridays so he could ask the women to turn around and "show me how you wiggle to get those jeans up."  and all of the racial slurs he used?

Tepper has to be a million times better than JR, but he'll probably leave his Brass Balls Trophy at home as it would surely cause problems in the workplace.
