Will we hear from/see JR any more?

After Tepper officially takes over as owner, do y’all think JR will basically be gone from the face of the earth, or will he still be around a bit?

Really curious to see how this plays out. I bet it depends on the results of the NFL investigation to a degree but I certainly wouldn’t rule out the possibility of JR being at a game here and there or even pounding the drum before one. And if we make the SB this year and even win it I feel like he would want to be involved a bit in the celebration.

Would Tepper be willing to let him in a little? Would he even want to come back or would he be too bitter? He’s certainly still attached to Hurney and Rivera a bit too. Maybe league wouldn’t let him back at all? Thoughts...?

And I don’t mean like a formal press conference or any speaking to the media, more just showing his face around the team. Zero chance of him saying anything publicly like that.

Honestly, much like most business sales probably not. Any questions Tepper might have, the answer is in the building or his old board member friends from the Steelers.

Lastly, JR just sold for a large fortune, and is deemed a predator, why would he go back?

Would you sell your house and go back for an evening to crash on the couch?

I think JR might be in the building at times, but as a guest and it won't be publicized.  I also can't imagine him no longer watching games, so it's probable that we see him on the jumbotron a lot.

Breer said the league was prepared to suspend him if the sale dragged on. And pretty much everyone wants that statue down.

The NFL wants him to disappear.

the only thing keeping joe paterno alive was his legacy. once that was gone he lingered a few months and went belly up.

men like jerry die when their sandcastles wash away. i don't think he'll last the year.

That thought has occurred to me too.

Also, if I could give one message to the Panthers...

Please in the name of all that's holy, don't do anything so tone deaf as paying some kind of massive tribute to him.

Yes, he gave us the franchise, something for which he's been well honored and given much gratitude. Things are different now though, so please just keep silent in public. If you want to tell him something nice, do it privately.

Players, coaches, management and new ownership don't need any more grief over this stuff. And the NFL sure as heck doesn't want to see it.

I think you'll have an easier time getting an interview with Tina Becker.

Or Jimmy Hoffa.

Seems you didn’t read the post. Wasn’t talking about him speaking out but being around the team at all...

He’s being force to sell because of work place misconduct. I doubt he’ll ever be let back in the building. That would just be a bad look and pretty insensative to the employees he harassed if they did.

No, I understood, and that's my answer.

I'm pretty sure if the NFL had a neuralyzer and they could erase his memory from existence, they would.

They sure as heck don't want him showing his face around the building.

Dude, you are being a little obsessive on this subject.

The NFL has much more things to worry about than JR being an old creepy man. Matter of fact, they just washed their hands of it. This wasn't a surprise to them, and they knew well before the leak it was going to occur. Hence the quick and haste process of the team sale.

Now on your other post, there will be a tribute to him, but not right now. Most likely when he passes on. JR will not be punished by the NFL, nor will the Panthers.

The only way this turns into more than it is..... is if the legal system gets involved. Most of the plaintiffs (sucks that there are some) will receive (or received) payments and move on. Just like you.

Your bad mouthing of JR gets exhausting. WE get it. Just like Hurney haters, say your piece and move on. You are not just beating a dead horse, you are fuging it.

He'll definently be gone, never to be heard from again. I believe the NFL and most of the surrounding community would prefer it this way also. If we were to win the Superbwl I'm sure he wouldn't be invited to any celebrations, but I wouldn't be surprised if he got mailed a ring.

    • That's my biggest concern with making him the 2C.  You split up the Aho Jarvis bromance that accounted for a lot of points.  If Jarvis excels as a C, it could help the team even more though.
    • The Saints being that high is the one that killed me. Chris Olave might not know his name at this point, Shaheed is coming off injury as well, so 31 year old Brandin Cooks might be your best WR...coming off a 260 yard season over 10 games. Kamara is Kamara, but didn't have 1,000 yards last year and is about to turn 30.  Toss in the fact that Taysom Hill may be the best QB on the team and I truly don't understand Barnwell's thoughts beside seeing the names "Olave" and "Kamara" and going yep, that sounds better than "Chuba" and "Thielen".
    • Now now now, I wouldn't say there is no logic, but there's just not a lot of in-depth thought put into Barnwell's  "analysis." Now to be fair to him (and other national writers), pre-season team rankings are basically clickbait. And...Barnwell, himself, said that "there's a lot of projection here." He basically admits that he doesn't know how the hell things are going to turn out with our receiver group. He also said that "I find myself" more intrigued by Coker than Legette; that does not mean that he said that fans should be, or that Coker will even be better than Legette (regardless of ESPN's per-route-run stat). So, yeah, Barnwell said some things, but even he has to basically admit that he doesn't know how bad or good that our playmakers will be in 2025.  Overall, what Barnwell is basically thinking is that the Panthers have gotten worse at the offensive skill positions, and baked into that is that others have gotten better. That's the argument in July (meaning, please don't give this any more weight than it's due). I would personally be surprised (not shocked) if we end up worse than the Titans, Pats and Giants at least. Once you throw in the Bills, Giants, Jets, Steelers, and even the Chargers, I personally think there are several teams' skill groups that may end up ranked lower than ours by the end of 2025.  @kungfoodudeis one of my dudes, but like others he is over the tipping point. He's had enough. Seeing is believing. I will say this though: Barnwell's piece is less about logic than just good ol' opinion. And to be honest, he might as well be a Huddler throwing out sh¡t in the summer based upon nothing but good feels or bad feels.  Our offense as a whole (just like any other team's) is going to depend upon the play of the O-line and especially the QB. How you can even rank the skill positions without expressly baking those two things in the cake is beyond me. I would dare say that that's not even logical.
