2017 4th round pick.  Great measurables, great kid, smart kid (engineering degree), high upside.  FWIW beat the Panthers in the last minute in the 2017 preseason.

Absolutely horrible strategy.  A backup needs training camp in our new system.

An intelligent young man with upside and zero baggage with 3 years on his rookie deal is a no brainer.

A backup QB is nothing to play Russian Roulette with, and we need to save Cam’s reps in the preseason.  Hell that alone is worth a 7th.
