Snow may have a point on the timing.

Once the season starts, executives and personnel guys are past the hard part of their jobs. There's not as much to do till the offseason rolls around again.

So yeah, you might have an easier time getting interview permission from another team once the season is in full swing.

I like the hire:

Glick is leaving his job as chief commercial officer of Manchester City FC, one of the top teams in English and European soccer.

He has also worked in the NBA office and for the Nets, and in the MLS and a number of posts across minor league baseball and hockey.

Glick isn't officially confirmed as the hire. He was reported by Jeff Darlington, but so far there's been no real word.

It may indeed turn out to be him, but it's not definite just yet.
