Cam was leading rusher and CMC was leading receiver

The Option will always be part of this offense as long as cam is here.  QB scrambles will always be a part of this offense as long as cam is here.  Its not Ron or Norvs fault that the cowboys let cam wide open on those plays.  Damn, whats wrong with you guys.  Be happy you have a QB who can do the things Cam can do.

The nice thing about this game is that, while we did not have great receiving stats or yards. Cam completed 65% of his passes and threw some insanely precise balls to funchess when he was pretty well covered by the defense.

That pass to CMC in the flat was precise as well, if it had been anywhere else he would not have got the first down.  I have to admit that I wasnt sure cam had those throws in him.

That's the one thing that is STILL missing from our offense for well over a year now, the big play down the field.

I mean some of it has to be our oline and some of it has to be WRs not being able to get open way down the field. But it still iritates me that I've not seen a deep bomb TD since Ginn went to the Saints.

Yea I think that’s personnel. Moore will be that guy, just gonna take some time. Sure as hell ain’t Funchess. Thought it might be Smith. Think it will be Samuel and Moore soon enough.

Hopefully Samuel comes back. He looked good in preseason along with wright who still looks good.

Get Ian Thomas and DJ more involved.

Hmmm I saw Greg Olsen out of his leg cast when Ron talked to the team after the game. Maybe he wont be out for the remainder of the season. Idk.

They have to find someone other than Amini to play RT, hopefully Corey Robinson is ready. fug it throw him in.

Cam called his own number several times during the first drive. After that, most of his runs were scrambles.  He had some big runs, which skewed the numbers a bit.

CMC and CJ rushed 17 times for 85 yards.  The running game was outstanding yesterday.  Any complaints about it are silly.

A bigger problem imo was Cam trying to force the ball to Funchess a few times when Devin wasn't open.  I am not sure if the problem was no other receivers were open, or Cam being zeroed in on Devin, but it is something that needs to be worked on.    Of course, its the first game, so that kind of thing is to be expected.

Ok to all you that only look at Cams stats. When he checks a ball down look at as a run.  Cam had a good game CMC had a good game. Anyone with eyes can see that.  You don’t need to keep making the same threads over and over stating the obvious. We have enough of those people in here already

You obviously don't understand the purpose of this thread.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
