Yes or No- Should John Fox be fired if we go less than 9-7?

its just time for a change.

We dont have a bad team, we just have an old scheme.

With the players we have we would be alright. Thats why atlanta is doing so good. They had a decent team to begin with, then the new guys came in BROUGHT a lot more talent and now you see what they got for it.

Its the new car effect

no matter how much you love driving the car you have now, there is just something special about that new car that makes you want to drive it longer, wash it more and take care of it.

John Fox is looking like an old 80's model dodge; at the time it was great because it was new, now looking back you say "damn"

Fox will stay if he gets 5 wins and there are no major "locker room" issues or major defections.

Big Cat loves him.

there looked to be a lot of issues following the 12-4 season? I mean across the board from ownership, coaches, and players. This group won't surivie 5-11.

Big Cat might love him but let him start losing like Seifert did and when the stadium isn't packed on Sunday's I don't care if you are married to his family he will fire you. Jerry wants a full house and he knows that sub par makes his tickets worthless. No faster way to lose a coach than for the fans to revolt. I remember in the 1-15 season I could get 4 tickets for 20 bucks.

yes. absolutely. he needs to have a winning season at the very minimum to keep his job.

he can't pull that off this year he's gone.

try to find someone who can pull together two winning seasons in a row and make us consistently winners. we have had long enough to find out what he is capable of.

i don't want to see us be like the titans and keep holding on to that "beloved" HC for 16 years who is unable to make his team a winning team very often. the titans are a bad model to follow as far as coaching is concerned.

He should not be fired,he's a good coach with a team thats not playing well.

That is such BS. I'm so sick of people saying some of these guys are "good coaches with a team that isn't playing well."

It is their freaking JOB to get them to play well. They are the coach it is what they are paid ridiculous amounts of money to do.

Being an NFL head coach is a prestigious job. It isn't a job where you say "well you tried hard and you're a good coach so I'll give you a second chance because you're team underachieved." This is a job where if you don't get results then your ass gets canned.

A classic example of this and the one that I like to reference in the John Fox situation is the Schottenheimer Chargers had probably the most talented team in the league and went 14-2. They lost in the first round of the playoffs and instead of the GM saying "Well Marty you tried hard and just had a bad game" he said "Marty your team didn't get up for this game and we need someone that can get them to play well in the playoffs." Now the decision that they made afterward to hire Norv Turner is was terrible but was completely unrelated to the decision to fire Marty.

Lets not keep making excuses for John Fox because he is a good coach. That should not be the issue. The issue should be is he the best coach for the Panthers? The answer to me is unequivocally NO. Not when you have guys like Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, Leslie Frazier, Sean McDermott, Mike Holmgren, and Mike Shanahan out there probably looking for the right HC job.

His contract is up next year, and I dont want to go through another FULL SEASON under Fox regardless of how we finish

Some people needs to move on. Fox time is up. Watching all these teams with new head coaches donig good is breaking my heart

....I just dont like this brand of football... I thought the superbowl & 2005 seasons were miracles and the best football that I have ever watched... but I can't stomach much more of this philosophy. On the flip side, we risk sucking really bad (or are we already there) for a couple years while the new guy installs his scheme. A new coach will not neccessarily equal success....I feel like we have mortgaged our draft future and sodomized the salary cap to try and win now and, well, we look horrible... only time will tell. Winning cures everything...

    • I was checking out Chris Brazzell II measureables, and I thought they looked suspiciously familiar. Turns out it was true, almost identical measureables to former Panthers DJ Chark circa 2023. I even checked Terrace Marshall Jr results, and honestly isn't that far behind them.   I know this isn't unique for just our team, but we seem to specifically have an obsession with trying to make this tall lanky speedsters work for us. I admittedly wasn't that high on Brazzell, and when I watched the tape I didn't really see that 4.3 speed, and a strong wind seems to tackle him.   I really liked most of the draft, including getting Hecht in the 5th when I graded him as a #1 Center in this draft. I'm rooting for the guy to work out, especially since our HC and OC made their bones as Wide Receiver coaches. But Brazzell is the only one I'm kinda meh on. I was hoping we'd trade up to get Big Citrus, or if we went WR I liked Ted Hurst much better. We'll see though. 3rd rounders seem to be coin-flips for us (see DJ Johnson/Matt Corral). But I'm rooting for the guy and for this experiment to finally pay off.   I haven't seen anyone else post something about this, so just thought it was interesting and passing it along.   #keeppounding   -------------------------------------------------------------- AI Overview   Chris Brazzell II and D.J. Chark both possess nearly identical elite deep-threat profiles, highlighted by their tall, lanky builds and blazing sub-4.40 speed. Chark was slightly faster, while Brazzell offers a marginally heavier frame and longer wingspan. [1, 2, 3, 4] The side-by-side physical and athletic testing results from their respective NFL Scouting Combines outline their comparable profiles: [1] Metric [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] D.J. Chark (2018) Chris Brazzell II (2026) Height 6'3" 6'4" Weight 199 lbs 198 lbs Wingspan 78.5" 80.1" 40-Yard Dash 4.34 seconds 4.37 seconds 10-Yard Split ~1.50s (est.) 1.52 seconds Vertical Jump 40.0" 40.0" (pre-draft) Hand Size 9.25" 9.0" Analytical Comparison Size & Build: Both receivers offer an excellent catch radius with lanky, outside-threat frames. Brazzell holds a slight edge in height and an even more significant advantage in wingspan, giving him a massive target radius. Speed Profile: Chark famously recorded the fastest 40-yard dash time at his combine, while Brazzell was a standout at his event. Both times are elite for their size, translating directly to the "field-stretching" and vertical playmaking abilities that define their games. Draft Status: Chark was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round (61st overall) of the 2018 Draft. Brazzell was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft.
    • I still reserve my right to bitch about how incompetent the Panthers are at running a football organization and point to the mountains of evidence in support.
