So.... We are done with Matt Kalil, right?

I would hope his drive for success is internal. Perhaps part of his drive as a kid was to live up to the family expectation and now that he feels he has done that there is no need to push it further. However, the onus is on him to find his drive and see if a position change would work because he wont be around much longer without it.

Personally, I believe that the Pro Bowler is still in him, but just not at left tackle. Some success in another position could jog that incentive. Put him at center and see what he can do. Larsen is solid but competition only weeds out the weak.

I think its awesome that you have belief in MK- proper fandom. The problem is when does it become like we're trying to find some/any role for him. And at what cost? If they genuinely entertained an idea of a position change, they wouldn't know until TC if it might work, at which point the draft and FA have passed by. If you did pick someone up, what would be the point of a risky stop-gap that would be short-term and stop a new guy's ascension? If he's unmotivated, unfit or incapable all you've done is narrow options at another position in an effort to fold him in. I can see the argument of it costs us nothing to keep him hanging around if hes been paid, but again-do we trust RR and MH not to just drop him back in as a starter? I think that fear is very real in this fan base.

What exactly did Hurney do again? Please explain? I would love to hear what you would have done differently.

Obviously you don't remember that he closed the out in Kalils contract earlier this year. Dave had it set up as a two year deal with a out at three. Hurney restructured that deal and killed the out.

So if he did this it should be no problem for you to find the information and show exactly where Hurney did the wrong thing. What was this out that Hurney closed?

See, I remember exactly what happened. And knew he had to when the deal was signed originally by Gettleman. But no one listens to anything that doesn’t support their agendas.

You mention this “move” by Hurney on a regular basis. One would think you could easily describe your exact issues with what he did? Correct?

I just did you just chose to ignore it. For some weird reason you think this is about Hurney.

I'm not a MK fan. I am a realist when it comes to what his contract means for the team. Better to make use of him than to cut him and be stuck with his money.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
