Going out on a limb here and saying that they probably aren’t the #1 D anymore

Haven't looked at stats but amazingly they could still be #1 or pretty damn high, they had a crazy margin between them and the #2 if I remember correctly. Which speaks to how great that offensive performance was because they are definitely a top D. Just no match for us.

Again our home game the whole broadcast was ravens centric the broadcasters new very very little about the Panthers other than cam Newton being 6 foot five and 250

Being a professional sports announcer you would expect them to do their homework at the very least, but in their defense it was a CBS broadcast who has a contract to carry AFC games. While I would expect these guys to be all about the NFL the teams they focus on on a weekly basis are in the AFC.

Dont get me wrong, it bugs the heck out of me too, but unlike the jackholes from Fox they have a small excuse.

Rivera was giving props to his staff and was giving kudos to Matso and Wharton for their scheming. I noticed that the linemen were positione closer together and Cam stayed pretty tight to the pocket and climbed it when pressured. Seems they were watching film and Kalil was excellent in his protections. Today he earned his salary and was stout.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
