If you think that freedom isn’t a dynamic movement I can’t help you. Nothing is fought for and won permanently, especially the liberty we share every day in this country.

Really interested in your opinion on what political agenda is to be gained from a fallen soldier who gave their life for their country?

Hey brah - take this to the tinderbox. I don’t want your politics watering down my football and my football discussion. Stick to sports!

The question is loaded and is an obvious “no.”

The fact that you place our soldiers in this category is astounding.

you said soldiers fighting for their nations are heroes. are you saying it's the war that makes them heroes rather than the mere act of fighting for their nation?

Like it or not as the NFL supports our military this IS a football discussion. Sorry if that offends you.

It was inferred that our soldiers fighting for our freedoms that lose their lives doing so are indeed heroes. I’ll try to be more direct if it wasn’t that obvious. Comprehension isn’t for everyone.

Are they having a flyover tomorrow? How much is that going to cost me? I’d rather them donate the money used for that to the VA or wounded warriors

but dude it's so badass. i just imagine those warthogs strafing some scary brown foreigners for our freedoms and that's worth every dime we don't spend on healthcare and infrastructure imo

i've been to more places than you have, i know exactly how good our nation is compared to what and in what ways.

now stop dodging the obvious question. are all soldiers heroes as long as they're fighting for their nation's freedom regardless of the nation?

I think that’s entirely dependent on an individual level and open to interpretation. Without context, the answer to your question would be yes tho.

of course. the point i'm trying to drive home is all fallen soldiers are heroes to their cause, so it's useless to call heroism good if a cause is bad. american jingoism at NFL games demands you honor them as heroes regardless of the morality of their cause.

no american has died defending my freedoms in a foreign war since august 1945 and honoring fallen troops as heroes rather than exploited victims of the american military industrial complex is a fuging farce, an embarrassment to their memories, and a danger to future generations lined up to be exploited by the same system.

So you’re taking the “unsafe” position of being anti US military?

i'm taking the position of being anti-imperialist which is commonly conflated (and usually for political gain by one political party in particular) with being anti US military. however, if you were to be capable of understanding nuance, you would see my position as being anti-war, anti-interventionist, and anti-ignorance in general.
