No poo CJ Anderson was frustrated. He barely got on the field! Secondly, who gives a poo if CJ Anderson was frustrated? He signed with the team for 1 year. He's a professional athlete. He is literally, figuratively, and however you want to put it, contractually obligated to deal with it.

Thirdly, why the hell did you even sign him in the first place? It's not like McCaffrey exceeded expectations in 2017. Everyone knew he was a rising star and explosive player. It's like they signed Anderson to fill the Stewart role in last year's offense AFTER replacing the freaking offensive coordinator and knowing that system wouldn't be there in 2018. The lack of foresight is mind numbing.

Um, you haven't gotten an "honest look" and Cameron-Artis Payne in the 3.5 seasons he's been a Panther? This is horseshit.

It's always the fault of the players.

No accountability from this staff.

Truth is that in most cases it is player execution for or against you. I promise when it is drawn up on the board it always works well. Not so much when you move to the field. Identifying players issues and errors and fixing them is the accountability that coaches have to the players. Sharing blame or falling on the sword is all fine and good but isn't true accountability and doesn't change anything. If the plan was faulty it doesn't matter unless you play them again since each week is different as are each of the game plans.

I'm not absolving the players of blame. Please let me be clear.

But lack of adjustments to what the Steelers were doing and an overall poor gameplan is not on the players.

CJ was brought in to fill a need that has been filled by other options. Of course they couldn't read the future so Hurney brought in who they thought they needed. Based on the first 9 games they decided that CJ doesn't fit what Norv wants to do so he was waived. It isn't a big deal or anyone's fault.

So in one answer, we need to "take an honest look" at him, while in another we're confident that he can fill in for Anderson and maybe even McCaffrey?

If we actually believed he was that good, why hasn't he been playing? And why did we need to sign a free agent back?

And how exactly do we know all this if we're just now "taking an honest look" at him?

This team makes my head hurt sometimes.

You don't know if adjustments were attempted or not and we have no clue who executed what. Obviously the game plan didn't work. And absolutely the players are responsible for implementing the game plan since the coaches aren't on the field. So yeah the players deserve most of the blame because they actually played the game.

    • Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
    • Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.
    • I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe   But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless   I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
