DAN CAMPBELL

1948612177_DanCampbell.png.a77b4b0bf608268456f8f8bf0683447f.png

Current: Tight Ends Coach / Assistant Head Coach, New Orleans Saints

Age: 42

Noteworthy: Mentored by Bill Parcells; has technically been an NFL head coach before as he was interim HC for the Dolphins in 2015 after they fired Joe Philbin (compiled a 5-7 record)

Quote: " Most tight ends who play in this league are very smart. They’ve got to know both the passing and running game. When we interviewed Dan, you see that in him. He’s been mentored and trained playing under Bill Parcells and coaching under Sean Payton. He’s got a great vision of what he wants (his team) to be. I think he’s going to be an outstanding head coach. It’s not a matter of if, but when." - Colts GM Chris Ballard after interviewing Campbell for the Colts Head Coaching job

JOHN DEFILIPPO

Current: Offensive Coordinator, Minnesota Vikings

Age: 40

Noteworthy: Father once worked at the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg; spent 2 years on the Giants staff under Tom Coughlin (Dave Gettleman was Director of Pro Personnel at the time)

Quote: "One, Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Two, stay aggressive. He's an aggressive guy, an aggressive play caller. And three, trust. He really trusted his coaches. If he gave you a job to do, he let you do your job. He trusted you to do your job. If you were doing job, he let you run with it and take something and make it better. That was my goal every day, to try and get the quarterbacks with the Philadelphia Eagles - Number 1, 2 and 3 - better each day. He trusted me to do that. " - DeFilippo on things he learned from Doug Pererson

DAVE TOUB

Current: Special Teams Coach / Assistant Head Coach, Kansas City Chiefs

Age: 56

Noteworthy: Former colleague of Ron Rivera in Chicago; long considered one of the best Special Teams coaches in the league; has had head coaching interview more than once in the past

Quote: "Honestly, he’s just kind of a boring football guy. He truly is. There’s not anything where it’s like—Oh, he paints!—or something like that. He’s just  ... it’s football 24/7 with him. He’s a great family man, I know that, but he’s a football guy. There’s no story there about his love for antiques. Guys just gravitate to him. They listen to him. They respect him.”  - Former Bears Long Snapper Patrick Mannelly

ERIC BIENIEMY

Current: Offensive Coordinator, Kansas City Chiefs

Age: 49

Noteworthy: Finished behind former Panther "Rocket" Ismail in Heisman voting; spent a year as a player in Philadelphia while Ron Rivera was a coach there; has been recommended by The Fritz Pollard Alliance as a top minority coaching candidate; nicknamed "Sleeping with Bienemy" by ESPN's Chris Berman

Quote: “I just have a picture of him coming out on the practice field because it takes older guys longer to warm up a full hour before practice and we started out right out with special teams and he wanted to be able to go full tilt to start with. His level of detail when he prepared himself to play was incredible." - Brad Childress

I can't believe a guy I had as a desperation TE bye week replacement in my fantasy football league is going to coach my beloved Panthers.  Time marches on.
