Lose next week and we will be the first team to ever start 6-2 and finish 6-10.

Can we even beat the Saints backups?

1. Confirmed

2. No. They'll sweep us again, regardless of who plays. CMC can't beat them on his own - no disrespect to him whatsoever.

We know we're going to be starting a backup quarterback.

Heinicke started off great but descended quickly to terrible. I don't really want to watch that movie again.

I'm hoping they put Kyle Allen in next week, but I've watched this team long enough to know what's probably going to happen.

Allen may not be any better, but why not give him a look?

(and by that I mean an actual look, not the kind you give Cameron Artis-Payne)

    • Did you guys even pay attention to how Atlanta was defending the offense? Atlanta didn't lose today because of their defense. They played a lot of zone looks and kept the play in front of them because they knew that no one could beat them deep except tmac, and they pretty much had a corner pressing him and a safety over the top the entire game. As bad as Xavier has been this year, he changes how defenses play us. They knew all we had behind TMac was a bunch of short and intermediate receivers at best.  Bryce took what the defense gave him, and yes there were some plays left on the field. Some of them were misfires by Bryce and some of them were dropped by receivers, and some were 3rd and long situations because of penalties by the offensive line. The offense as a whole is still trying to find its identity. I think you have to look at the full picture here people. And when you don't have the weapons to manipulate the defense, you take what you can. We missed Thielen, Coker, and yes, even XL today.

    • Great list. I was also impressed with Moehrig. Great tackling techique. Had the near sack/pressure on Penix, a tackle for loss, and got a 3rd down stop in the open field.
