I know there is a college football forum, but no one uses it

Will put this here, to aminly talk about potential draft prospects.

The Florida OL some on here mentioned.  Getting absolutely abused

Rashan Gary and Devin Bush sitting out.

Next years QB class is going to be absolutely STACKED as well.  The Michigan QB returning looks solid

- I was really impressed with Gardner Minshew from WSU against Iowa State last night. He’s been super consistent this year and I love his accuracy for a late round prospect. Assuming Bridgewater prices us out of his range, I wouldn’t mind signing Tyrod Taylor and drafting Minshew in the sixth. After all, if Cam sits out next year we are f’d anyway.

- Hakeem Butler, my favorite prospect all year (outside of Greedy Williams) had a huge game for ISU last night. We’re talking about a 6’6 WR who runs a sub 4.5 40 yard dash and he actually knows how to use his height (cough cough Devin Funchess). I suspect he’ll work his way into being a late second round pick but if he’s there with our third round comp pick I’d love to add him. Trotting out a unique line up of size (Butler), speed (Samuel), and strength (Moore) would be lethal on offense.

- David Montgomery the RB from Iowa State also impressed me last night. He seems to break quite a few tackles after first contact and is pretty darn shifty. He made a jump cut last night that was real impressive. He’s projected to go anywhere between the fourth and sixth round.

I completely understand why Gary and Bush sat out but I think it’ll hurt their stocks. Theyre two guys who NFL teams would really want to see one more last game from them. Bush size is already hurting him a bit.

I agree, hard to understand Bushs decision.  Day 3 type measurables.

Michigan was amazingly overated this year.  Very mediocre

Not really

They were solid

Hard to judge off this game.

They are a run first pro style team.  Playing without their starting RB who is sitting out.

Missing their ALLAmerican DE, their defensive captain at MLB.  Going against a Florida team with all their guys.

How do you think the panthers would fair vs Atlanta team with everyone while we'd be without KK, Luke, and CMC

Joe Jackson had 2.5 sack yesterday

Jaquan Johnson had an INT and made 13 tkls yesterday

Joe Jackson is interesting

He's a round 2 guy.

Elite athlete that is really RAW.

Got manhandled vs LSU and several other games.  But shows flashes like vs Wisconsin.

Patterson is not solid at all. Average-terrible is what you meant, I presume, correct?

    • It’s not new. That particular claim has largely disappeared because it has become untenable, but a few games into his rookie year when the playbook/gameplan/personnel/everything was terrible there was endless claims, posts, even threads made that Bryce Young was physically incapable of throwing the ball 20 yards downfield in the NFL. It was also argued that physically throwing the ball 20 yards in the NFL was somehow different than college. Once he threw the ball 20 yards, the goal posts moved to 30 yards, etc. I’m not going to use the search function for you, the point wasn’t as much that one claim as it was that that was one claim out of many that has made it very difficult to have a reasonable discussion here.
    • I mean, I can get a ball downfield 40 yards.  There would be a couple massive issues with me doing it.   My ball placement would be off the charts bad.  Second, for me to get it 40 yards I'm gonna have to moon it......which would give DBs the opportunity to make plays on balls that wouldn't exist if a better QB were throwing it.  Which is all an exaggerated explanation of the Bryce issue.  To many play the literal game w/ Bryce when it comes defending him.  Every NFL QB likely can loft one up around 50 yards.  Every QB in the NFL can't get a ball 30 yards downfield in the same windows.  Or the same ball placement.  That's the Bryce issue.    But I also think mixed into that is just his QB DNA.    Take a young Brees, it was in his DNA to stress defenses and takes shots.  He would flat out be Delhomme-ish at times.  Which is coverage and assignment altering.  Brees would throw balls into triple coverage 40 yards downfield.  Is that smart? Sometimes it is.  Not because the play gets made but you force the secondary to play honest.
    • Tbf were not going to the superbowl this year so the development of our young wr is invaluable  As a side note 5 of our wr are in their 2nd year or less ( t Mac, Coker, tremayne, horn, x)  It's def a promising youth movement
