Man, I sure am glad Rivera won today...

Who actually coaches to throw a game. When the ball is snapped you play to win with who you have out on the field. It isn't like the starters were in there the whole time. Our third stringers beat their third stringers with some starters thrown in. Peyton wanted to win this game just not enough to endanger Brees. A first look at the post Brees apocalypse.

Really confused how this all is blamed on Rivera...  you have our 4th string QB off the streets in, CMAC and Luke play 1 series each.  You can't control who the other team plays, and you can't ask players to not try.  These players are fighting for their roster lives whether it be in Carolina or somewhere else around the NFL.  Yeah, it sucks, but all this crying about it blaming Rivera is absurd

Yep, exactly... 95% of the people around here don't understand the NFL or football in general.  Just absurd

Payton did a pretty good job of it, lol.

He was not trying whatsoever.  That early "attempt" to convert on 4th down was just to feign effort...  he actually wanted to turn it over there to give us more field and time to burn clock and score.  He did not care at all...  they chewed clock and gave the ball back.  That was their whole gameplan.  Didn't play Brees, Kamara, pulled other starters early, and the guys that played really didnt.  The replays they showed of Cam Jordan were indicative of their intentions...  they were all going half-speed and going through the motions.  Meanwhile, our guys were actually trying.  It was a joke.  Ron was coaching to win.  Payton was coaching to get the game over, with his players healthy.

Always comparing to best case scenario is the formula for being always disappointed.   We could be 8-8 still missed the playoffs and had even lower pick if we won one of the close games.

But, we entered TODAY 6-9, with control over whether we had a top 10 pick, or a pick in the late teens.  The decision was ours.

Do y’all really expect these players, some of which are playing for their jobs, to lay down and quit so the team can move up a few positions in the draft?  I certinsly don’t want those types of players on this team.  And those players certainly deserve better fans that those who you who do expect such a thing.

Peyton wants to win whenever he can and has a history of running up the stats whenever he can. He isn't going to throw a game but he isn't going to jeopardize next week with injuries to starters this week. He didn't care if they lost but didn't negatively influence the outcome.

You mean the same players that when the games actually meant something "laid down and quit" 7 games in a row?  Yeah, I dont think it should be that hard for them to lose on purpose considering they were doing it when it actually mattered.
