Man, I sure am glad Rivera won today...

Enlighten me some more...when did I say I was happy with our pick?

i said that as a fan I would never expect players of the team I pull for to lose intentionally.

Pay attention.

I feel like we drafted pretty fuging well with an even later pick last year. It's all a crapshoot  anyways. You guys freaking out over a few spots in the draft order is ridiculous.

You:  Agree 100%

So are you happy with our draft position now or not?

I was agreeing with his post, which was being optimistic that we can still find talent at 16.  I was also agreeing that people are freaking out over a few positions in the draft.

I never said I was happy that we weren’t drafting earlier.  You want to know what I would be really happy about?  If we were drafting 32nd.  But that can’t happen.  So let’s move on and accept the fact that we can still find talent at 16.  DJ Moore has worked out nicely so far and he was even further down the board.

From top 10 to 17th... and Payton, usually the ever-aggressive asshole looking to stomp the life out of an opponent, couldn't have been more accommodating.  How dumb can Ron be?  This does nothing for morale, it does nothing for momentum...  the season was over, we literally gained nothing for winning this game, we only lost.

I'm not going to rail on about any of this, as I've decided to not get too worked up either way with any of our team's decisions anymore, because after seeing the decisions made for 2019, it was never clearer that we have no influence or control over anything as fans.  That being said, I cannot figure out what the logic was behind actually going for the win today?  I get we have guys like Kalil playing their last game and maybe he wanted him to go out with a win, but it was still a disastrous losing season...  and if you want to leave him with a parting gift, he already has it...  his brother is still on the payroll.

I just don't understand...  what a long offseason ahead of us.

Payton was NOT going to win this game, Rivera didn't have much of an option. Payton doesn't do morals, he takes advantage of the situation.

That said, fuging poo, we got fuged.

Ron can't even figure out how much better this would have been to play this as an exhibition and see the back half of the roster to evaluate for next year. He's that dumb.

I just wish he’d coach as hard after a bye as he did a meaningless game like today. He cost us big time today.

I think you guys would have been 7th (jump Bills, Lions and Bucs). Similar fall and honestly yours was worse because you easily could have avoided it. We really had no chance to lose because the Saints clearly didn’t care. Tampa was trying to beat you. We got really boned last week. If Pittsburgh wins (they should have), we lose to a team trying to win.

While I don’t like that we won, after watching the Saints effort, we didn’t have a chance. That and Bridgewater clearly isn’t any good anymore.

Avoiding double-digit losses looms large in the mind of a coach whose seat is decently warm (looks like the OC / DC may be gone), despite all the injuries.

A Fan.

give it a shot.  Requires wanting your team to win regardless of what draft pick is at stake.

Please do not use the fan card.

I have been flying in from fuging Denmark 10 times the last ten years. But even I could see the best thing for the Panthers was to lose today.  Did I cheer for them to lose? Nope but sure as hell was I seeing the bigger picture and saw a L would help get a bigger chance of a top talent in the draft and a better pick in every round after that.

Is all hope out because we lost was is equal a 2nd round pick today? Naah not at all, that hope has Hurney and Rivera shut down long time ago, and going into a season with a lame duck coach is way worse than going from 8 to 16.

So next year we are pulling for 1 or 2 wins so we can win the draft? I'm just trying to figure out how to be a huddle fan. I'm new at this. I thought I was supposed to pull for my team all year, not just in April.

Yes! that is the exact same thing as losing the last game of a season were you was on a 7 games losing streak and playing for absolute nothing.
