The biggest thing I'm gathering is that Funchess was a Diva behind the scenes, which is surprising considering how lackluster he was on the field and how unassuming and "say the right thing" he seemed to be off it.

When Smith left Baltimore, he sent a thank you letter to the city as a whole, thanking them for the opportunity to play.  Doesn't sound like a bad locker room guy, although I suppose people can change.

It is true that sometimes when people start tailing off performance wise, they start getting louder to cover for it.

That happens in the real world too, not just football.

I could look it up. It was because Rivera wasn't there when was told that he was being cut as I recall. He claimed Rivera avoided him that day.
