If he made it to 16, how would you feel about putting him at right tackle with Taylor Moton on the left?

Not sure. Personally I would prefer Moton staying @ RT esp with the uncertainty of Daryl Williams (still can't believe we brought him back but I digress). I think Moton will excel at RT and if J Williams fell into our lap, it would make for solid bookends on the OL for years to come.

Why are so many people afraid to play Moton at LT because they think he'll excel at RT? Here's the reality, RT is the easier position to play. Most LTs would likely look even better if they were playing RT. RT is for OTs who can't play LT (or the rare scenario where a team has two capable LTs but someone needs to play RT). Gross would've probably been a HOF RT, but instead he was a really good but not quite elite LT because a really good but not quite elite LT is still more valuable than a HOF RT.

I'm really only concerned about that one guy who seems to be afraid of playing Moton at LT.

I'm blanking on his name. Ron something...

You make some good points LG. I guess we've been subpar protecting Cam for so long that I just want to see the best players at each position. Moton did a decent job @ LT during the preseason last year and perhaps he'll excel there after an offseason of preparation. But if we can get a bonafide LT in this draft (especially if there's a run on edge rushers before #16), we should jump at the opportunity.

I've become so accustomed to watching us make bafflingly terrible OL depth chart decisions under Ron that I've simply come to expect it at this point. It seems as if we always find a way to NOT play our five best OL.

I just very seriously doubt that there's an OT available in this draft who would be a better LT than Moton as a rookie.

Only kid id consider at OT if Burns or Sweat are still on the board as well

People forget.  He was consensus the top OL in this draft and people had him going top 5 overall going into the National championship game.  He had a solid game vs Clemson but had 1-2 big bad plays vs Ferrell.  Then the questions magically arose that he is better suited at OG "because he isnt long enough".  Then he goes out and out measures Dillard.

Williams has played in NFL style offenses, played in 3 point stances etc............Unlike Dillard who played in a gimmick offense where you lineup wide spreading out with the QB throwing short pass only requiring guys to slide and mirror for a short period

Williams has run blocked in one of the best rushing attacks in college.    Unlike Dillard who played in a offense that ran the ball 1-2 times a game.

Williams played against the best of the best competition.  Dillards best competition he faced was about as good as Williams worst.

Williams gave up 2 bad plays in a national championship and people dinged him for it.   To one of the best edge rusher in this class, rd 1 guy who people say we may consider at 16.  While Dillard got bullied by day 2-3 guys in a Senior bowl, and people come up with excuses "well its just a all-star game" (yet those same people love to raise the stocks like Moton after a dominant Senior bowl wek and those just a all-star game excuses arent used there)
