My second ever job was at the Food Lion on Spring's Road in Hickory NC when I was in high school

among the other colorful characters who'd drop by frequenty there was an individual I tagged as "The Bear".  He was a roughly 350-lb or so man who never wore a shirt, usually just shorts and flip-flops.  The only part of his body that was not covered in gnarly black hair was his head.
