Bryan Cox Jr. is in trouble

Smoke your weed, do your vices, whatever. If you’re going to do them, you need to be smart about the sh*t. Do the speed limit, be able to pass all drug tests, etc.

This is not good for a bubble player. Only stars and high level players are worth the headache.

I'm curious if those posturing the loudest about the morality of marijuana usage also think it's a good time to get hammered drunk in public on a regular basis?

that's literally not what happened at all, and has nothing to do with this incident.  i mean wtf?   you're way to stressed about all this, and people not being allowed to criticize cam bro.   can we just wait til rivera blows a game before we all go nuts

you're so awesome.  does your career involve getting your body smashed a whole bunch every day? i'm just thinking, if it did you may want to smoke a little weed.

I deal with a little chronic pain from a back injury from my skimboarding days. I have never experienced any sort of pain relief from any theoretical use of mj. I think this claim that players use it for pain relief is ludicrous at best. I can see almost any other reason but let’s stop pretending that it helps with pain.

Yep, let's take one person's completely anecdotal account over all of the peer reviewed clinical trials demonstrating the opposite.

Tell that to a cop when he pulls you for speeding:

I was speeding because everyone else was

Never say anything. Statements are convictions. No consent for searches, do not answer questions. Roll windows down only enough to pass license and registration through. Car off hands where he can see them.

I’ve never seen any evidence stating that weed relieves pain. I’d be interested to see all these studies you mention.

He picked this career... and working as a traveling cable splicer working 60 hour weeks sure I could use a little myself... but I don’t.... cause I get drug tested... go back to your moms basement.

Marijuana has a lot of uses medically, pain relief among them. It may not relieve pain entirely, depending on the severity, but it can take the edge off enough to provide some relief. Of course, with CBD available in so many forms now, you don't necessarily need to use marijuana to get the benefits. I know several people who use it in various forms, edibles, oils, creams, etc, and it provides relief. A quick google search will provide you with plenty of studies.

Is there any opportunity you won't seize to side with someone that I happen to disagree with?

Anyways. As far as speeding in America, the roads now often resemble social media. No one wants to give an inch, and everything is 0-100 in seconds. You can't even make a simple turn without getting nearly run off the road by someone behind you unwilling to wait a whole 2 seconds.

The point was that literally no one in this thread has argued the position that weed is immoral, so I have no idea whose side I’m taking...but please let me know so I can ask that person to give me some pie for having his back.

Maybe you can start actually quoting people or posts you disagree with instead of this weird tactic of yours where you post vague cryptic platitudes that leave everyone scratching their heads wondering who you’re referring to. I mean usually you wait for a single person to take some ridiculous extreme stance so you can then make a “Isn’t it crazy how so many people on these boards...” post, but in this case, there was no one.

I get that this type of rhetoric is effective for a pie or two from people with limited reading comprehension who are like “damn, that dude is woke!!”...but it’s not rooted in reality.

Are you under the impression that dragging the carcass of a previous disagreement between us into a topic about a completely unrelated matter somehow puts you above the fray?

I'm kind enough to respond to you out of sympathy.

Anyways. Clearly there are people that have some kind of moral objection considering it has been mentioned multiple times in this thread that weed is.....

Not a huge fan of the argument that you chose to play football (or whatever field) so you should happily accept all the consequences. How many jobs do you think Cox qualifies for that even remotely approach the benefits of professional football? He's just going to step away due to the pain of playing football and jump into his back up job of... best buy associate? The fact that he might want to do something to mitigate both the short and long-term consequences of the job shouldn't be disregarded. It's like the argument that if you don't like parts of this country then leave. Why the hell does everything have to be take it or leave it? I'm not saying he should be smoking marijuana but I am sympathetic to the possibility that he could have taken it because he's desperate to find a means to cope with the demands of the job.

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
