Serious discussion- what do we do at backup QB?

I've said this quite a few times to everyone who keeps mentioning how supposedly "stacked" this roster is... The Panthers cannot, and will not win games without a healthy Cam Newton.  I'm dead serious that if you put Tom Brady on this team he wouldn't be the same player.  This team lives and dies by Cam.  The future is terrifying if the shoulder isn't back to 100%

The funny thing people aren't realizing is that Tepper was pissed about the 7 game losing streak and threatened Marty and Rivera...their answer was well if we had a better backup we would have won more games. Except the defense is what was ass and Marty and Rivera wasted a 3rd round pick to appease the owner who wants to win and gets involved even though he shouldn't. Hold the GM and most of all HEAD COACH liable for a 7 game losing streak. Doesn't mean you go panic buy a QB in the 3rd round to "win you games"...especially when Cam was showing he was recovering very well and positively.

Marty and Rivera have definitely failed in having a back up who could come in and maybe win a game or two, or maybe more if Cam were out.  I get and agree with drafting a Grier, but I thought there would have been more of an attempt at bringing in a veteran. (not sure who they could have brought it and gotten to fit this need .... of course you have the bring in Kap crowd, but besides him.. not sure);  BUT  Allen and Heinicke were never the answer not should they have been going into this season.  Marty and Rivera have put all their eggs in Cam staying healthy for all sixteen games.

On a side note, maybe Taysom Hill will be so impressive Peyton decides to only keep two QBs and cuts Bridgewater.  He would be an upgrade over Allen and Heinicke.

Tyrod would be the perfect backup. Why would you not want a former starter who had TDs to INTs of 20 to 6 in 2015, 17 to 6 in 2016, and 14 to 4 in 2017 the last 3 seasons as a starter? That's 51 TDs to 16 INts and his completion percentage all above 60 percent in all 3 of those years. Not to mention he's got running ability too.

or sign whatever that dipshit special teamer on the saints that everyone thinks is special teams payton manning

Yeah, no poo. Every time the Saints are on the announcers play a game where they see who can say “Tay-som Hill” the greatest number of times. You’d think he was the greatest player of all-time the way they gush about a slightly-better version of Joe Webb.

He's also making like..20% more than Allen, Grier, and Heinicke combined.  He's making what..6.5m?
