The Sunday Football Games Thread

I know a bunch of you probably won't be in the mood to watch football after our team doing so badly, iirc in 2010 I ONLY watched Panthers games I was so depressed. I'm still going to watch a 1PM and 4PM game today, probably not the late game because I have to wake up at like 4am for work on weekdays.

Ill be watch Cards vs Ravens for the 1PM contest and Saints vs Rams for the 4pm game.

Falcons play the Eagles for the Monday night, likely not going to watch it but I'll catch up on it on the way to work probably.

Yea we're 0-2 and things are looking bad but the good thing its still early and our division is a pretty jumbled mess. We're not in terrible shape if the Saints and Falcons lose this weekend which is a pretty real possibility given their opponents.

I'm watching the Cards vs Ravens mostly to just scout out the Cardinals since they are our next opponent. I'm a bit more interested in Vikings vs Packers so I'll prob have that on my computer or something. Or vice versa.

Same, I’m hoping the Cards look legit and we lose to them to further cement Rivera/Hurney’s demise

Dammit, when the Panthers suck it trickles down to not even being interested in other games either. Like at this point our season is practically done, what difference does it make if Saints and Falcons won or lose?!

Season is not done due to division IMO. We've only played 2 games overall and only 1 divisional game. Too many things that can happen in the future.

I wouldn't say we're done unless we go 0-4 or 0-6 .

How is the season done after two games? We still have 14 more games, anything is possible. Aints have a gauntlet to go thru the next few weeks so if we can get our $hit together we could still be fighting for 1st in the division.

KEEP POUNDING

The one thing that depresses me watching other NFL games when the Panthers aren't playing, is how easily other teams seem to score touchdowns and get turnovers. Panthers make this stuff look so fuging difficult and other teams just walking in the end zone all day long lol.

    • I agree, but I've already said that the players will definitely take more money up front because it's more security. But they want more guaranteed money and NFL FOs don't want to do that for several and various reasons, and that's what's at issue.  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-second-round-rookies-finally-starting-to-sign-what-took-so-long-and-what-it-means-for-future-contracts/ It's a tug of war between teams and players, and, sure, paying a player a signing bonus may satisfy them, especially if--and sometimes "only if"--it ultimately leads to a guarantee of more of their contract, but the teams are on the hook for all of those guarantees when cap time comes, so if they guarantee more money, they're ultimately losing the contract game.
    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
